Tons of low end and great fuzz. I love it. Although I may not be keeping it too long, it is a great pedal. Go get one, you'll love it too.

I had it off my board for a while, but this past Sunday, I fired her up, and after tweaking with the settings in new ways, I'm in love all over again!

My board now has two very different distortion/fuzz pedals on it - an MXR Blowtorch and an EHX Little Big Muff. I should get another board shot up soon...

Anyhow... Jesus_Tequila, there's a heck of a lot of info and opinions on it in this forum. You just have to use the Search function to find it. I know this because I was the first person to rave about it here, over a year ago!

how is the gt-pro for bass ?

All I can say is the buck stops here. IMO, there is no better effects unit on the market. Weather you use the modeling part of the unit or not it's pretty much every Boss pedal + many others in one 2 space rack mount unit. I called Roland before I bought it and asked how it would work for bass. The techs comments were the unit really isn't "tuned" for bass or guitar and with all of the DEEP EQing capabilities you can pretty much shape anything you want, again IMO. This will be a mainstay in my setup until the next generation comes out. No bending over to fiddle with a floor unit, outstanding MIDI implementation and PC programmability (very cool graphical interface software) I'm sold! You can go drop $500.00 on 5 or 6 individual pedals or look around on eBay and get this monster for about the same money...It's a no brainer for me.

Let me know if there is anything specific you want to know about the unit.

I want to be careful and not Hi-Jack this thread so I'll keep it short so the pedal board posting can continue. The VF1 is the baby brother to the GT-Pro. It's a nice unit with a lot of the same sounds but I believe is doesn't have the modeling capabilities of the GT-pro. I also believe it's a little more cumbersome to program. I have not played this unit but have read about it. My experiences is with the GT-6 GT-6B, GT-8 and GT-Pro. I've owned them all, played them all and liked them all but the GT-pro is my favorite. Again my thought on the whole thing is you can have a board full of boutique pedals and miles of cables and hope it all works when you get to your gig or rehearsal. If that is your thing that's great but when I'm moving my setup around I want a compact plug and play scenario, no batteries, minimal cable to run and no worries. I get that from the GT-Pro. It might not have that boutique sound that only a select few can afford but with the 5,000,000 other sounds it can produce I'll leave the boutique sounds to the other guys. I could play with this for a lifetime and never tap out the possibilities. My 2 cents...

Aramat Green Machine Bass OD/LBM/Custom GCB-95 wah with (amond other upgrades) flashing LED's/Ross Compressor Clone/Custom Envelope Filter clone. Simple, but I like it. Although some may be for sale soon. If I ever nail down an order, I may velcro them down, for now, it works.

but logically speaking, why would he make them so large when the pedals are so close to each other?

If I'm not mistaken, I think he was referring to a couple of the pedals on that board. www.buildyourownclone.com They make DIY kits for popular circuit designs.

Correct on the BYOC. And the cables are a bit long because nothing is set in stone on that board. When I get a set order, I can shorten the cords. I have a few feet of cable left, and only two more connectors, so I have a few options left

How do you like the Green Machine?

Great TS sound. Good amount of low-end also. It can do a nice clean boost, to a crunchy overdrive. I usually keep it where it breaks up when I really dig in, which is where I love it.

However, I just borrowed a 60's Bassman to use tomorrow night, and I will be driving it hard with the Aramat

Unity gain is when the pedal adds NO volume whatsoever to your clean signal, so turning it on and off should have no difference in volume.

Out of all the BYOC kits the ones you have would be at the top of my list to build. However, few people here seem to have BYOC stuff or know much about them...soo....I have a few quick questions...

How difficult were they to assemble??

And how do the compressor and filter sound on bass???

Unitiy Gain is a term refering to the amount of gain a pedal produces compared to how much gain your producing without that pedal. Having the gain at (roughly) 7 o'clock on the EBS compressor will make it so that the pedal is not cutting or boosting any volume (gain) by turning it on.
