I scrolled down your post and as the picture appeared my jaw dropped and I was like 'ok, a nice set-up' but when I got to the 'just kidding' bit,I burst out laughing.
I use a Tascam 2488,Roland Fantom workstation with SRX 09 World Collection Expansion Board,Roland Classic Organ C-180,Roland Phraselab MC-09,Roland GRX 840,Vigier Passion Graphite bass,Shure SM 58 and my best asset,my girlfriend's singing voice.Software...no need as yet.
 
Not a full blown studio... just my songwriting space.

I can use my mouse about 50ft away or so, its wirless then I just use my leg as a mouse pad.

I have that same setup and it's working great so far! :)
but you don't need a 1/4th adapter. That's a standard instrument cable that you plug into your bass. You take a regular instrument cable, plug it into your bass and the other side into the console.
