Mid 80's MIJ short scale Squire P someone sanded and spray painted (and routed.) I bought it super cheap and started to strip the spray paint but have recently given up. I think I'm just going to put it back together and play it. It's pretty ugly - but I kind of dig it.

I would add a pick guard to cover up the bad patch and dye the fretboard darker.

But then it would be less ugly...

Started out as an SX Liquid sunburst electric guitar. Stripped it down and converted to a 4 string bass. Stripped it down again and converted to a 5 string bass

Zombie bass for a zombie thread. This '67 Starfire came to me, beaten to a pulp, with horribly sloppy modifications, in non-functioning condition. I've since added a properly spaced Hipshot bridge, a set of Novak BSX custom humbuckers (each consists of two Bisonic coils in a standard humbucker-size housing) and an Alembic filter preamp. Each pickup has it's own 4-position rotary switch, allowing me to select North coil, South coil, both in series, or both in parallel... so there are lots of tone options on tap.

Here you go. Here's my 73 P. Btw, Kevin Kaufman (who restored Jaco's bass of doom) did the fret level and coating on the bare wood portions of the fretboard. I previously had a 72 Tele that he modded. Wish I still had it.
