I would say this one is my ugliest bass
I dig that! I am certain there is an interesting story behind this...
Wanted one of those ever since the RHCP Higher Ground video.
Whoa! That is one hot mess.I would say this one is my ugliest bass
Here you go. Here's my 73 P. Btw, Kevin Kaufman (who restored Jaco's bass of doom) did the fret level and coating on the bare wood portions of the fretboard. I previously had a 72 Tele that he modded. Wish I still had it. Don't know about ugly, but sure is well worn.View attachment 645849 View attachment 645851 View attachment 645852 View attachment 645853 View attachment 645854
I love thatZombie bass for a zombie thread. This '67 Starfire came to me, beaten to a pulp, with horribly sloppy modifications, in non-functioning condition. I've since added a properly spaced Hipshot bridge, a set of Novak BSX custom humbuckers (each consists of two Bisonic coils in a standard humbucker-size housing) and an Alembic filter preamp. Each pickup has it's own 4-position rotary switch, allowing me to select North coil, South coil, both in series, or both in parallel... so there are lots of tone options on tap.
