Power Amp Question

Alright so I did a search and nothing really popped up. My question is this: I am running a sansamp and I want to get rid of my svt-4pro and get just a power amp. Now I know that power amps have one input and one output for each channel. How can I power 2 cabs with one input? OR would I have to buy another sansamp, and run the parallel out to another sansamp and then run 2 channels into 2 cabs? I am just sick of using my 4pro as a power amp because of the small repairs it needs, and my lack of cash.....Thanks

Just get a Y cable. Sans amp out split into two inputs of your amp. The two outputs of your power amp go to two different speakers.

I'm not familiar with a sans amp but if it has stereo outputs. There you go. Two outputs for your two power amp inputs.

Doesn't the y cable take the signal and divide it into two, so its not the full signal going in?

Nope. Same voltage gets applied to both channels. Its like if you plug 2 lights into one outlet, they both get 110 V.

Most stereo power amps will give you the most power in bridged mode. You have one input connected to your preamp, and the other input of the stereo pair is internally connected to the input of the first (and inverted for bridge mode).

Then you hook speakers to the 2 hot terminals, channel a and b, rather than the hot and ground terminals.

You have to be sure to respect the minimum ohms handled by the amp in bridged mode, it will be twice the minimum of either chanel in stereo mode.

In other words, if each channel can handle a 4 ohm load, the amp can only go down to 8 ohms. If each channel can go down to 2 ohms, the amp can handle 4 ohms bridged.
