Praise Report: GHS Precision Flats

Well, I have to say, that the GHS Precision flats are the smoothest, sweetest, most perfect sounding flat wound strings I've ever played, and I've tried quite a number of flats....My flatwound search is over!
Yes, they are and yes it is! They are wonderful strings. Sound great on almost anything and feel wonderful on everything!

And...the best is yet to come after a couple months.;)

This is what I hear! One of the things I like most about the Precision flats, is they have the right amount of stiffness for my playing style, such that it seems to make playing fast runs fairly easy compared to the Roto Swing 66 that were previously on there. So great! They are going to be on that bass for a long time I believe......:smug:

Just to illustrate how much I'm enjoying the P Flats on my P...

First thing this morning, as I poured my first cup of coffee and sat down in front of my computer (like I always do), I decided to grab my bass and casually started noodling (something I don't normally do).

45 mins later, the coffee was getting cold, still untouched! Who needs caffeine when you can wake up to the Sound of Chocolate? ;):D

Right!? I did the same thing this morning, I was just noodling away on the bass unplugged and enjoying the natural sound of the instrument with the Precision Flats so much that I couldn't put it down! These are going to end up on at least one or two of my other basses no questions asked! Hey on a completely separate note, has anyone heard from our friend @Linnin lately? I had seen that there was a little situation but I had not heard any details.....

Anyone have their GHS Ps strung body-through as opposed to top load? I use Body strung for EB Cobalts. Looking forward to installing on a Lakland 44-02 based on these great "endorsement" comments.
I converted my Yamaha to string thru to make the winding length fit right. I love it this way. And though I know it shouldn’t make any difference in sound because the strings come off of the saddles the same way either way it seems to make a difference. For lack of a better word is sounds more “solid”.

Hey man! What's your analysis of Precision Flats on a single coil P? I'm thinking to do the same thing.....
Stepping in on your question here.... I tried the PFs on my '55 Pbass and it wasn't a good fit in my situation. Thought it would be ideal but didn't work with my set up. Sounded dull and uninteresting. However, strings on this bass either tend to be honky on the D and G or dead and generally lifeless. May be the bass more than anything. I have not tried them on my Regenerate Heritage Plus (very modern take on a '55), because the Pressurewounds sound too good to take off. (The PWs didn't sound good on the '55 either.) Now I'm curious but don't have a spare set of PFs around.

But the PFs sure sound fantastic on my '58 P, '71 J and G&L L2k!

Jumping in here... I put the GHS P Flats on my 60s J bass and love them! They have only been on about 2-3 weeks so I don't have a whole lot of experience. However, I played at a rehearsal last weekend and they sounded really nice. Fit in the mix excellently. I wasn't playing through my rig (Fender Rumble 500 w/410 or 115 cab, or both) but those strings still sounded great. I was playing through a Hartke 115 KB and it mixed well with a vocalist, drummer and rhythm guitar. The amp was only at around 11 o'clock. I would give them a try on a J bass, for sure!

Has anybody tried playing "rock" music with Precision Flats? I'm playing in the host/backing band at a bar jam night this week, and debating bringing my P Bass (P Flats) to the gig instead of the jazz (Pressure Wounds).

Flats are made for rock. I've used GHS Precision flats, Ernie Ball stainless steel flats, LaBella flats, Pyramid flats, Rotosound flats... and more. And still using them. Exclusively at this point.
