I've visited Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Atlanta, Georgia and I can definitely relate to the appeal of the south, but as much as you love the South with all it's benefits and faults, I love socal with all it's benefits and faults.

Born in North Carolina and spent all my life in the South and the West. Most all our relatives still live in Georgia, Florida and Texas. There is much I miss about the Deep South, especially the food

Yeah its redundant, but the Southern Pride thread makes me think about how awesome my hometown is, or most of the northern end of North America for that matter.Whether its mountains that dwarf cities or open tundra. Its sparse and its stupid cold but somebody got to call it home.

I'm from Utah; it's awesome. I have 10 ski resorts within an hour of my house, and mountain biking everywhere. This time of year I can snowboard in the morning and mountain bike in the afternoon. Stop complaining about the liquor laws... you can get drunk here just as easily as anywhere else.

I gotta say I love where I live. I can surf in the morning, and be snowboarding by lunch. Or if the swell is right California can light up waves that are world class. This is not to mention the golf courses, the mountain biking and the sexy Asian chicks.
I approve of this thread, cant wait for the East Coasters to chime in. And I must admit the Pacfic Northwest is quite nice.

Yeah, I'd say that once you're about 20 miles north of I-4, you're in "The South."
Yeah, we've got NYC, Philly, Boston. We have some of the safest beaches on the planet, some great skiing areas in the mountains and some of the hottest gals on the planet. Here's to Eastern pride.. fuggedaboutit!

We have the Great barrier Reef, snakes, crocs rainforest open plains. Lots of Rain, lots of dry Cane Toads, Cane Beetles, Humidity and we think anything under 20 Celcius is cold.
