East Texas is The South; West Texas is the Southwest.

The vastness of Texas can be confusing. Texarkana, on the eastern edge of Texas, is closer to Chicago than to El Paso.

Regarding California's fault lines, while the big boys (San Andreas, Elsinore, Newport Inglewood) have the potential to wreak havoc, it's the known and unknown, blind-thrust faults that are likely to catch SoCal by surprise... as they have been during recent earthquakes (e.g. Whittier, Coyote Hills, Hollywood, etc). We're all gonna die!

Florida == far southern New York City + far northern Cuba

You just described a whopping two counties out of 67 in the entire state. And if you'd read the thread, you would know the state is much more diverse. Double fail!

LOL I love how Florida is never considered south though we are the southern most state. I guess not sleeping with our cousins and having all our teeth excludes us from being considered fro m the south.

I with you guys on the beauty of tradition and culture, but I wouldn't recommend anyone driving through some areas at night if you are sporting out of state plates or a minority ethnicity. For instance New Orleans or Alabama. And a medical pot card won't be of any help in most states.
