Proco Turbo Rat SOUNDCLIPS

anyone thinking about a rat 2 should get one with a bass mod, i like it much more than a stock turbo.very thick sounding.

anyone have any suggestions for a good compliment to a rat in the realm of another distortion/fuzz/overdrive

i'm thinking that you'd probably want to look for a warmer sounding distortion/fuzz, because the rats are pretty harsh, and a warmer pedal would give you a nice balance.

That's awesome. You really nailed that tone!

Thanks, but the RAT did all the work. I was just along for the ride. :) What a great pedal! :bassist:

Oh & I wanted to say thanks as well, because although I had heard of & seen the RAT pedals, I'd never even tried one out. Your soundclips gave me the inspiration to give one a shot. Needless to say it won't be going back to the store I got it from. Great thread - thanks again. :)

well, it might seem kinda random to post in this old thread again, but i just thought I'd let you know that my battery is still alive. I've had it since October, and i use it all the time, maybe a couple hours a day everyday over the last month since my band hasn't been jamming and I've been practicing alot more often at home. so yeah, random post on my part, but...loooooooooooooooooooooong battery life.

well i do loved my turbo rat, but i was needing a synthy kind of fuzz so i got the blowtorch and sold my turbo rat. now i use my bassdrive to do my od to light distorion needs. but for the record, if only i have enough space on my board, i'll keep the turbo rat. i really think its a good effects and also good value for money, plus it sounds killer!

here's a clip from my former turbo rat together with his friends, micro pog and analogman mini chorus. pardon my playing, i did this like 7am, haven't slept yet.:)

I picked up a Turbo RAT a couple of days ago - LOVE it! Lots of tones from light crunch to full out over-the-top distortion. All points in between are well covered too. Here's a little clip of me playing against Primus' Wynona's Big Brown Beaver (it was late, I was bored :)). Anyway, I panned my bass 80% to the left speaker & the song 80% to the right speaker to help distinguish what's what...oh, I used a Boss LS-2 to blend in a taste of the clean signal back into the distortion signal. Forgive any sloppy playing you might hear.
