progressive rock recordings / bands

A friend gave me a cassette copy of ^^^that Zinc album when it was first released 30-something years ago. Listened to it once; I remember thinking it sounded like someone had compiled a list of every single "Prog Rock" cliché and then tried to cram every list item into every song. But I should probably give it another listen, because Jobson's certainly done more interesting stuff since, and his CV warrants more than just a cursory listen.

I bought that Zinc album when it came out and I still have it. I have not listened to it in many years but I always liked Eddie's playing.

Kerry Livgren's solo album Seeds Of Change has some progressive leanings.

This song, "Mask Of The Great Deceiver" has Ronnie James Dio on vocals, Barrie "Barriemore" Barlow of Jethro Tull on drums, and Paul Goddard of Atlanta Rhythm Section on bass.

When Kerry Livgren and Dave Hope left Kansas for a while, they formed the band AD along with Warren Ham, who had done some work with Bloodrock, Kansas, and other acts. They sounded quite a lot like Kansas.

I just learned about this band.

Ah yes, a veritable cornerstone of the Canterbury Scene. I stumbled over them many decades ago when I was trying to figure out where Bruford's keyboard player Dave Stewart had spent his formative years...turns out the answer was "nearly everywhere" and likewise for every other member of Hatfield And The North. A real incestuous lot, those Canterburians.

Anyone from Canterbury around here to verify this?

A very Ambient poetic type prog concept album just been remastered:
‘CERULEAN BLUE’ by Rain Jaeger on iTunes/iMusic and Spotify. Apparently this was originally released in 2004. Must have passed me by. Loads of influences can be heard but it’s very much it’s own thing. I can’t seem to find out much about the band or artist though: Rain Jaeger. Anyone heard it or know anything about them? I love it. It’s one of those albums that you want to put your headphones on and close your eyes and just listen to.
You can find it on YouTube too but there is no video, just an image of an eye.
