PYPB 43

Latest iteration: Micro Pog has replaced the BOD, and I'm trying out replacing the OD & Fuzz with the OFD. Programmable EQ added. So far I'm liking it a lot!

Pretty much everything except the EQ and Comp is in the Mobius pre/post loop, and the Pog and OFD are in the Wonderlove loop.

Here's my board, which I made up out of an old briefcase I used to cart around instead of a messenger bag back in the day.

Pedals are (in order):

TU-2
Joyo Ultimate Drive
EHX Epitome
EHX Freeze
Mooer Trelicopter (for sale or trade, incidentally)
Joyo Compressor
TC Electronics Flashback delay

I had to raise the Freeze and Tremolo in order to reach them, so I used a book I love, The Modern Gentleman, by Mollod and Tesauro.

OK. finally had a few mins to put my two new pedals on (MXR Bass Comp & Joyo Ultimate Drive), and re-work the signal path a little bit.

Wholeboard1_zpsf2425dcb.jpg

Signal path is Bass-->In/Out box (mounted under board)-->Pitchblack-->Micro Amp-->MXR Comp-->Ultimate Drive-->Modded ODB3-->Analog Chorus-->Phase90-->MS60B-->BDDI-->Amp/FOH

I really need to do something with the cables...looks like crap...some just a bit too short, some WAY too long etc..

I've been gassing for some George L's...Just having a hard time justifying the price tag.

Still waiting for the cable splitters/adapters I ordered from Voodoo Lab so I can power a few more pedals off my PP2+.

I definitely want to add a Dark Driving, and then a VMT or B3K or SFT (to bump the ODB3 to the "bedroom board")...Substantial costs are probably going to have to wait until closer to tax time though. :(

Turtle, check out the Source Audio OFD. It can, and has for me, cover the sounds of all the pedals you are looking to pick up. I had a VMT, SFT, and still own a B7K. The first two pedals are now gone, and my B7K is used as a clean preamp. Given what I have heard online, I am fairly certain it can handle Dark Driving duties as well. It is a nice all in one solution if you are not hung up on the analog/ digital thing.

for $55.00 you can get 50 feet of cable and 10 plugs

or for $40.00 you can get 10 feet of cable and 10 plugs

I have used George L's and i like these better overall especially for the price

kit even comes with a cool little custom cable cutter that resembles a cigar cutter!

Hey Thanks zwkoch!

I just went and checked it out, there does sound like there are some cool tone options in there, there were a few that I didn't like, but the "tweakability" is there, to get some cool stuff out of it.

I will say though, Like a lot of the Source Audio stuff, I find it visually unattractive...that's never stopped me from buying in the past though :p and the price seems like a good value for what you're getting...I may have to look into this further.

And for the analog/digital debate, nope I couldn't care less...if it sounds good, I buy it.

Nice! I had heard about these kits, but I hadn't really looked into them yet, plus I hadn't had a chance to post a thread to see how many TB members have/are using them and to inquire about their quality vs. George L's vs. Lava etc..

They certainly would make rewiring a board a bit cheaper. :bassist:

Check out JohnK's OFD demo page. Lots more sounds that didn't make the demo video.

Wow, very nice, I especially like the fact that he spend a lot of time with the "low gain" settings, as that is generally where I tend to spend most of my time with dirt.

However, every now and then, I like the dirt to get downright unpleasant...looks like this could maybe do that too.

Either way, seems like it would be worth buying, thanks for the heads up! :bassist:

Still going to get my hands on a Dark Driving though...The Source Audio sounds like it can do it, but I've played through a Dark Driving at a friends house...it was so nice, and I promised myself I was going to get one! :) ....besides, you can't really have too many dirt/OD/fuzz pedals. :D
