I was thinking that I'd pick up a Ditto looper when it came out because I'd surely be able to squeeze it on my board. But I really don't think I can.

Having a pedalboard where everything just barely fits is a GAS killer if only because it's a huge PITA to take it apart once it's all wired up.

Jared - how do you like the Bit? What effects do you use it with, and what sounds do you use it for? I'm trying to decide if I need one for my electronic band...

Does the VP have to be on the board? I've found that I prefer mine on it's own.

I'm debating a Ditto also, but after messing with the delays in my M5 I'm tempted by the Flashback...more delay options than I need (a good thing) and a looper.

Hey eshears, good to see you around!

The Bit (and the Bugcrusher that I currently have loaned out) do their analog version of sample rate reduction and it gives a very clean ring mod like sound without the atonal nature of a ring mod.

I use them a lot with the OC-2 using the soloed octave down for a little more color to the tone. I like running that combo into the Xerograph with either a manual sweep or with an upswept filter. It gives it a synthy, cold edge that I like for a bit of a Squarepusher vibe.

It also works great AFTER a low pass filter. Hitting it with a big envelope, especially with some fuzz you can get cool formant filter like tones. That's what John Davis is doing in this video with his Bugcrusher:

I've got mine wired before the Xero because I can get similar tones from the Mobius.

Between the two, the Malekko's clean blend means it can be a bit more subtle. It also needs it because it cuts lows on some settings. The Bugcrusher is cleaner and much more full range.

I may pull the expression pedal off the board. Honestly I'd prefer to have everything wired up and carried together, but it's a really tight fit as it stands now.

The Flashback is definitely solid but the looper on it is pretty much just for my own practice right now. I'd rather have a simple dedicated looper for actual live use.

I had a Flashback X4 briefly and really liked it but it just took up too much space.

grrrrrr... that's all you need!

i look at this and think...maybe i don't need a phaser, reverb, delay, filter, 3 fuzzes, channel/loop mixer...

dirty boost - preamp - green muff - tuner.... grrrrrr... :bassist:

then i remember what an effects whore i am :p

cheers folks (and nice board anarchyok!) - I'm typing this from work and a little parcel containing a dispatch master has just been delivered to my desk :) excited!!

Vlad - grass is always greener! I have a second fuzz, a phaser and a tremolo at home and keep toying with the idea of putting everything on a big board... but I quite like the constraint of a PT mini and having to limit myself to 4 or 5 pedals :)
