Questionable Reverb Listing?

Dunno if it's true, but one plausible theory I heard is........

The wildly overpriced basses are listed on ebay by folks in Japan that don't actually possess the basses themselves. They grab pics of basses from other sellers in Japan, list them on ebay for way more than the "real" Japanese sellers are asking for them. If someone buys one off ebay at the inflated price, they then buy the bass from the "real" seller, and ship it.

Maybe a better statement would be "An instrument is worth, to an individual, what they are willing to pay for it"?

As always, people are excited to mind someone else's business. I suppose Keeping up with the Kardashians is a rerun?

The *value* of something is up to the individual. The seller believes this instrument has value. Some buyer might agree or not. That's their deal. Beyond that it's just a coffee klatch talking about someone else's stuff.

Anywho, can you believe the dress that Hazel was wearing last night? What a trollop!

PS. I have a Cabronita Tele clone in Mary Kay white and it really is a beautiful and underappreciated color.
White is a really great color for an instrument as it always looks super nice under stage lights and can be seen well from very far away.

Hazel's new dress is beautiful but that p bass is overprized. That said, I would gladly pay $35000 for a new fodera aj presentation 2.

And, yeah, it might be a misprint; or just someone who thinks the bass is rarer than it actually is. And, I'd imagine the people who're "watching" it, are doing so out of the same curiosity that makes people look for Bigfoot. "Is there actually somebody that's goofy enough...?" I have a couple of basses that actually are pretty rare. This '94 Gretsch Broadkaster is the only factory lefty bass I (or anybody I've ever talked to) have ever seen. And this '01 COY Rick 4003 is, also, quite possibly unique. But, if I were ever to sell them.. $35,00? Uh..no, don't think so...:cool:

I’m no expert, but I can’t see any Fender made in the 80’s worth that much. Hard for me to comprehend any bass being that much, but I at least understand when they’re original 50’s or 60’s models in pristine shape.

I’m curious what the experts have to say, because to me, No matter how rare the color or hardware colors are, it’s still a 1987 Fender P-bass.
It looks beautiful, I’ve never seen one like it, and hopefully it’s as nice to play.......BUT, it’s still a 1987 Fender P-Bass.

I’m of a bent that there are zero basses on this planet that are worth $35,000. A 1957, or a 1572 vintage, it doesn’t matter. For heavens sake, buy a decent bass, take the $30,000 difference and make a contribution to a soup kitchen or charitable food locker.

If you passed on today, would you want to be known as the guy with the $35,000 bass, or the guy that had some compassion for his fellow man?

Neither. I'd want to be known as "the guy who was Buried with a $35,000 bass". I'd have a picture of it, and the fact that I was buried with it, inscribed on my very large, ostentatious tombstone, too...:roflmao:

I think it's brilliant. I'll bet you dinner at the restaurant of your choice their web traffic has never even been close to what it is right now. Indignant people are googling them as hard as they can go to see "What kind of jerks these people are". They get to the web site and say "That one was ridiculoud.... but check THIS out." (Clicks add to cart)
