Questionable Reverb Listing?

Yeah, I'm pretty much as much of an ass as anyone. Though I don't typically play the role of TB Price Police or link to external stuff to take the piss out of it. But hey, it's a free world. Or at least heavily discounted world.
Anywho, you a Rangers, Islanders, or Devils fan? Tough loss for the Rangers last night, but I was rooting for the old rookie in net for the Blackhawks...

Rangers fan. A very up and down season but surprised they crawled out of that early hole they dug for themselves.
Rangers fan here too. Brutal loss, likely Winter Classic hangover.

Yeah, I get a bit of a chuckle every time I see a used Steinberger Spirit listed for more than what I can order a new one today. And then they add $150 or so for shipping. I am kinda curious about the Russian guy that has a bunch of 80's vintage stuff listed. Not unreasonable on pricing, but I often see him posting Yamaha BX-1s, Ibanez Axstars, etc.
Interesting. But I thought it was selling price that determined the value, not listing price.
I've dealt vintage guitars. Once had a real 58' burst.
If this were real, you might find a collector that would get close to this number. Look at what the Pre-CBS custom colors go for now.
But,it's dead mint with no history of owners.
Case is mint; extremely rare. The finish looks too new; not much ambering.
If I hear the kid died in Vietnam and this was under his bed story again, I'll puke. Highly suspicious.
I was with a vintage guitar guy when he bought a Korina Explorer; the one with the black inlay at the crotch.
The PAF's were real as was the neck (from other instruments). It look perfect. So he says to the other dealer, the finish doesn't smell old, and where's the case. The guy has nothing. He bought it for big money and after more research, he found the guy that made it. Needless to say after one phone call a UPS return label was sent and the money refunded.
OTOH, maybe it is real.
Doesn't matter if it has value to you or I.
The true value is what 1 man will pay on any given day.
You would be sad to know how many vintage Fenders bought at ultra premium pricing were shipped to rich Japanese collectors in the 80's.
A guitar dealer buddy in France bought many a lot and sold them at his partner's shop; then started selling old US cowboy pistols and rifles in France. Back then they had this thing for collecting cool old American culture.
It will be interesting to see how this ends up.

The only thing rare'ish about the bass is the 'anno tag'. Not like you can't get the same sound and feel with other Fenders (or copies). Even the design is the same as the current Fenders. I don't really get why Fenders are that high priced as new either, let alone the price for this old fart.
Nope, previous poster contacted stellar - they want 35 grand. They think that a rare 80s reissue (these were very limited, single run) is worth 35000 dollars. He's wrong, but he didn't make mistake.
Imagine the custom bass you could get made for that. Heck, imagine the set of custom basses you could get made for that.
If buyer and seller are both happy after the transaction, the only gripe I’d have is the resulting price inflation.

That reminds me of Sean Connery’s classic line from Untouchables when Ness told him he was a federal treasury agent and then Ness screams at him for not bothering to ask for ID and he responds, “Who would claim to be that- who isn’t?”
