Quiet Amp for Home Use

Assuming this isn't a troll post - quiet, home-use amp w/ a $3k budget?! - I'd suggest you get your amp checked.

The fan on myTH500 is as quiet as a whisper. My GK MB800 fan is more noticeable when it kicks on; but even then, I never hear it when I'm actually playing. Only if I'm sitting in my quiet practice room taking a pause while I read something.

Have an Aguilar TH500 but the fan seems to be very loud. Is there any amp that does not need fans? Anything below $3k is fine.

Acoustic Image, or many older G-Ks, tube amps (B-15?), etc etc. On that budget you could buy a nice old school convection cooled power amp and a killer tube preamp too. Old Haflers are pretty cheap and sound great.

Fans are absolutely unacceptable for playing at home as far as I'm concerned, so you are definitely not alone in your wants.

Just within your budget. ;)

Both of my TH500 fans are noisy when they switch in. Doesn't bother me but I can see that they could annoy.

With that budget I'd look at the AER Amp One or Amp Two.

Beautiful sounding combos.
