AHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!! What the hell is that? F'ing hell, man. So, the argument between 4 & 5 string bassists doesn't really begin to scratch the surface, does it? I need to know, what in the world do you use that for? What do you even call it? Besides "the Beast."

well, it's an extended range bass. I use it for everything from traditional bass playing to solo performances to composition to experimental sound textures. and I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of its capabilities yet!

to return to the thread already in progress, though, I do use this axe in a couple of funk ensembles and it's delivered more than its share of Old School groove anthems!

Yeah the bassline is played on synth but works pretty good on electric bass (hell, break out the old Boss Bass synth and you'll dial in the sound pretty handy)
