Good day: ruined. He was such a private guy that the article says he died 3 days ago. I never heard any mention of health problems besides arthritis. But now Listening to Geddy and Alex interviews saying they would make music in the future...maybe they knew he wouldn’t be there?? I’m hoping it will come out that it’s a mistake and he’s doing fine somewhere. I can only imagine this is what it was like have heard the news about Bonham or Moon.

I'm in disbelief. Dude was wicked young. Seeing so many of our musical heroes dying is like... I can't even... And I used to think that drummers were immortal. Like, I'd often hear about singers or guitarists dying, but never drummers.

I hope Neil Peart is having fun jamming with Dime in the afterlife.

Neil Peart was so awesome I'll even forgive him for spelling his name the "wrong" way (That's an inside joke between everyone named Neal/Neil/Neel/etc. Every one of us with that name insists our spelling is the "right" way and I spell my name Neal.)

What a sad day. It’s like losing a close friend. The man who wrote the lyrics that touched me more than any other lyricist. Sad day but also a time to celebrate what he left all of us!!

Huge Rush fan here. Rush is why I started playing bass. Add me to the list of those torn up by this terrible news.

I've also read and enjoyed his books. While I didn't always agree with his philosophy or politics, his immense intellect was always on display in his work.

I hope he's enjoying a happy reunion with his daughter and 1st wife.
