  2. Finally at peace. To me, he was the best of the English blues guys of the 60’s and wrote and played on some the era’s most underrated songs.

It HAD to be a total coincidence, but "Oh Well" was just on at the hardware store.

  8. RIP. I loved the guy and his music.
Glad he got to enjoy more music in his later years.
I learned from him musically and I learned to stay away from drugs and voodoo.
    So, Thank you.

Signing on, to pay respects. John McVie was the heartbeat that drew me in to Fleetwood Mac, but Peter Green was the genius behind the band.

  11. Peter Green died in his sleep last night. The guitarist was founder of Fleetwood Mac and inspired many also-influential musicians. He didn’t play bass but, like me, many of the bassists I’ve known through the years would have loved to accompany him. Thank you P.G. for all you gave us.

Like many musical ‘acid casualties’ like Syd Barrett and Skip Spence, it would seem that there were already some underlying mental issues in place; his lyrics and demeanor conveyed some depression, at least to me. The LSD just aggravated what was already there. I’m not quite sure what you mean by “voodoo”, but he definitely grappled with spiritual issues. This gorgeous, decidedly non-bluesy track written by him, was their only #1 hit in the UK....

And "End of the Game" was one of the most amazing LPs ever recorded at the time.

  19. Oh Well the Supernatural Peter Green may have played his last Man of the World. But we know he is laying it down in guitar Heaven for Rhianon, Black Magic Woman, Jewel Eyed Judy and even the Long Grey Mare. Let us hope he escapes the Green Manallishi with the Two Prong Crown. World Keep On Turning and World In Harmony. Amen.
