Just put human and move on.
I'm 29.
My grandparents (my father's adoptive parents) won't tell him anything about his real folks, but I've been talking to him and he's starting to suspect more and more that he's his aunt's son. But I'm gonna start looking more into this again
If he goes to see her, he could take some hair from her brush and get their DNA tested, if he really wants answers. Someone, somewhere, a record of his birth should exist. Who applied for his Social Security card? Who was his doctor, when he was a kid? Does he have a copy of his birth certificate? Where was he born- that city/town should have a copy, with the parents' names. He should be prepared for the answers, though- my dad's side had some rumors flying around about some monkey business that's not socially accepted, or legal. Then, there are the stories about the stills another uncle and my grandfather had in their house during Prohibition.![]()
Or we could let sleeping dogs lie.

how dare you depreciate the integrity of this discussion!!!![]()
Yeah, this is one of the reasons I brought this up with him again. When he was on his first search (late 80s), there weren't very many resources available to him. Public records weren't easily accessible, and DNA was all-but nonexistent to the public. At least....that's what he says, I don't know. He coulda just been kind of lazy. Wouldn't suprise me![]()
It doesn't matter what box you check, the people you meet are going to attribute race to you when they meet you for the first time. Usually they'll apply the label of the "lowest status" race or ethnicity. In the majority of the US, that means that if you look a little black, Hispanic or Asian, you'll get that label even if the majority of your heritage is NW European. The "white" label is reserved for those who don't look the slightest bit "other".
Gang members knocking innocent people out? You fell for that hyped story I see.

Uh, do you mean "hyped" in its meaning of "over-sensationalized" or are you saying "hyped" thinking it means "untrue"?
Hmm, guess you've never had it happen it your area and therefore it must not happen. That, and perhaps you are unaware of some security tapes and upcoming trials about this.
Yeah, my girlfriend works for a large commercial real estate broker in St. Louis, and they sent out a memo to their offices that all females are to be escorted to their vehicles after dark, and to always be alert and aware while in public due to the increase and severity of the attacks.
losers who target women and children.
Maybe liberal-leaning people who don't get out much think the story is 'hyped'...
Not a liberal person here. More centrist/libertarian etc etc, but from my perspective, here in Jersey those news reports are hyped for all they're worth.
The incidents DO happen, but in being virtually over-reported as they are, they almost create a confirmation bias which feeds on itself.
Then, not only do people get worked up, but then you have idiots who copycat for the notoriety.
Compare the amount of "knock-out" game reports vs muggings, fights, and so on, in every city on every day....
The 'knock-out" game stuff tends to sell more news but is an absolute miniscule thing in comparison to the other things that can befall a person.
So, yeah, it does happen no arguments there, but you really have to put it into a bigger perspective.
What I mean, is not to say that your GF's work area is all of the sudden perfectly safe, it very well may not be, but it may be unsafe due to a simple increase in crime in general...? Otherwise it may be that all the hype itself HAS actually caused a bunch of idiots with nothing better to do to jump on the bandwagon.
