Range Rover Runs Over Bikers

Bikers are idiots anyways "watch for bikers"... bitch, you're the one choosing to ride on a dangerous two wheeled vehicle with no seat belts or even safety gear half the time. I have blind spots, your don't. Watch for me, or don't ride. The bikers in this video were idiots too, doesn't matter who's right or wrong, just their driving habits before the whole altercation started, they already broke road laws.

Seriously; I've waited this long to comment. These riders were beyond jerks; their actions were criminal, and that's why four of them were arrested. I've done my share of riding. I've played to bikers my whole adult life. I give bikes tons of room on the road; I watch out for them; I even try to protect them from other cars.

If that bunch of bikers had surrounded me, at a point where no one had been injured yet, I would not only lurch forward and hit some of them, I would throw it in reverse and hit some more. I would drive like a maniac down the freeway, and every one of them that got close on their bike would be sideswiped, and I would do some brake checking of my own. I would take actions that would HIGHLY discourage the rest of them from pursuing me further, or I would take every single last one of them out, unless police intervened first.

Would I really do that? We don't know. But I'm just saying, watching that footage, that's what I was rooting for the SUV guy to do, and I HATE SUV guys.

I crashed my bike, and broke my clavicle, and fractured my spine in two places, and have had major surgery. I'll never get on a bike again, and I'd rather go my whole life without seeing anyone else injured on one, but DO NOT PLAY ROAD RAGE GAMES WITH ME.

Clearly you have no idea. A four thousand pound range rover slowing at the rate of a 600 lb bike In low gear. It takes up to 75 feet to stop a car at 30 mph; a bike can do it a little quicker I should think. Ar least my bike and any other sport cycle can. Your brain is not operating I fear.

Since several of the bikers were off-duty cops, there's not much doubt that some were armed. At least they didn't bring them out.

You're bonkers. I ride a "Slow" 600cc sportbike (2006 Yamaha FZ6) - I could do 60 MPH in 2nd gear all day if I didn't mind my gas mileage being horrendous. But I would agree that 1st gear would be a stretch, it's hard to kick mine down into 1st at 45. But keep in mind, mine's a slow 600.

I'm not going to say much, but if you hit me and then cop this attitude I hope to the 9-layered Hell I'm dead. I'm sure there are "safer" riders than I on these roads, but not many. But I choose to ride knowing full well the dangers inherent in the act...including your ignorance. And I've accounted for that already So do me a favour, use punctuation, keep the phone our of your ear, and for the sake of the Gods don't let me catch you using your iPad while you are behind the wheel. Or reading a newspaper, whacking your kids, rubbing your boyfriend...I could go on and on. I've seen all of these things. In traffic. At 70 Miles Per Hour. Or Greater.

Glad to know I'm a criminal for doing something that is perfectly legal (riding a motorcycle) smarter than the average person (less distractions, more training), alone (I don't do group rides), at my leisure (I hate riding in the rain, I take my Jeep in that case).

BTW, I'm going to qualify my "More training" statement - I've been licenses to drive everything from a 250cc motorcycle (M Cert) to a 42-foot, 45 passenger bus (Class A CDL) and some cool things in between - military trucks with 10 wheel drive and a GVWR of 34,000 lbs (HEMMT PLS), HMMWVs, 5-tons, etc.

In addition, I've done motorcycle training through the MSF twice, one track day with the California Superbike School, and ironically the bus training was the most difficult. So I've gone from being the bug to being the windshield and back, including ramming Oshkosh and 42-inch tires across the hood of an Oldsmobile (That was a great day to be in Iraq) trying to sneak into my convoy. To top it off, my Mom was CDL with every rating under the sun and has more miles under her retired butt than the average American will accumulate in their life - driving her around is always educational.

If you're still refuting anything, I'm done here because you can't fix stupid no matter how hard you hit it.
