Range Rover Runs Over Bikers

I wonder if it was the biker who recorded the events and uploaded them? Maybe a sense of guilt by association, thought he could help more that way? Dunno, nothing but absolute speculation there.

It was disclosed this morning that at least two of the biker thug gang were "undercover" police officers.

Why was I not surprised to hear this?

They (the cops) should have intervened before the whole debacle escalated to the point of the biker getting run over by the the SUV driver and the beating of the SUV driver.

Here is the point.

If they were being so lawful and respectful, they should have called police when the car ran over the idiot and let the law take care of it, not run the guy down and beat him.

They are scum that think the public must endure their [DEL]stupid sport[/DEL] illegal riding on public roadways. Save it for the parking lots you scuzz buttheads and obey traffic laws and this wouldn't have happened. If the poor family man gets any repercussions, I for one will be even more incensed.

Fixed. Big difference. ;)

And even in the regular world, I don't go too long between incidents of ignorant people trying to give me a new job being a racing stripe on their car; getting trash-talked by somebody who's never ridden a day in their life, or have some EMT, Paramedic, or Nurse come up to me while I'm getting ready to go do battle with these dope-smoking hippies and tell me stories about all the yutzes they've had to sponge off the highway.

Peace,
Greg

I think this points to a possible explanation (not justification!) for the incident.

As bikers have to endure constantly having their life jeopardized by various dimwitted motorists, the sense of being a victim increases. So, when they form a very large group (mob) they feel powerful and can let the pent-up frustration out. They feel they can "get back" at the motorists who have done them wrong all these years.

I suspect this is what happened.

If your theory were correct, then they would have had no business getting on their bikes in the first place. It would be a completely wrongheaded way to approach the public roads on their part.

Maybe.
But lemme just say this - coming home this past Saturday on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, I had a brief encounter with two of these type of yahoos. Both were weaving in and out of traffic, doing about 90-100 mph, at times slowing down to glare at motorists they passed. Once they got past everyone, the one guy pops a freaking wheelie on the PA turnpike and boom, off they both go.
The problem I see here is that if the guy smears himself all over the road, Darwinism just had a success story and that's that. BUT, people were having to change lanes and swerve to avoid these idiots. If it's a choice of my family vs them... nah there IS no choice.
So while I sympathize with bikers - the good ones - and feel for them, you also have to understand that if you choose to ride a bike, you also have to know that there are a lot of bad drivers out there + you're small and harder to see. It's infuriating, I don't dispute that one bit, but you know the deal going into it. Now yahoos who deliberately put themselves and everyday motorists in danger just to do stunts, they're buttholes and have no sympathy from me at all.

Yep, it pisses me off to see people riding or driving recklessly. Bikes have more maneuverability and speed than a car, so some riders just let themselves get hopped up on adrenaline. No responsibility, just looking for the rush, everyone else be damned. Go to the track if that's what you want. At least there the only people that might get hurt are yourself and others looking for the same rush, which is fair. To endanger other people who are just trying to transport themselves safely isn't.

Yep, I have no sympathy for those buttholes either.

I was hoping to find some sort of explanation why they did what they did.

When you have only two bikes going after motorists, my hypothesis flies out the window.

I've seen those sport bike do wheelies on the freeway too. I've had one tailgate me within inches of my back bumper. Had I lightly tapped my brakes and killed him, what would his friends have done back at me?

I hope that my young son doesn't see one these fools splatter themselves on the road in from him.

To our U.K. brethren..

Please recall Piers Morgan.

He has served his useful purpose here. Nothing more to be gained by the useful idiot.

[DEL]Im willing to pay money[/DEL]...

edit... Okay,. truth is, I have no money. I will cheerfully give you my '98 American Deluxe J bass (low mileage) if you can just bring him home. I'll cover the shipping (of the bass,,, not Piers, hah hah..) Seriously.

The big mistake in this whole thing is calling these guys bikers. They are not like any bikers I know and I know a lot of em.

From what I saw in the vid they are jut your ordinary run of the mill thugs, they just happen to choose motorcycles as their basic transportation. I've see 300 + bikers run through mixed traffic and never cause a problem because they made a point not to. These clods were itching to cause trouble and were looking for any excuse to do so.

I saw a clip from an interview with the guy who checked the rover to set the whole thing off and he's acting like he's all confused as to why he's being charged with anything. When asked point blank if he thought he didn't have anything to do with the incident, he gave an answer I'm sure his mouthpiece drilled in to him about only changing lanes to try to look back to locate his friends, but he never tried to slow down or stop the rover.

Watching the video you never saw a brake light on that bike come on . He's saying that as well .

There is engine braking. Those bikes can easily run over 10k rpm. If you back off the gas your going to slow down quickly ,without mechanical brakes.

Im going to say those guys are in big trouble ,unless they have oodles of cash and assets to hand over to lawyers.

yes apparently there was undercover police present . They will make great trial witnesses for the prosecution.

And if the undercover force has any evidence of other wrong doing they may be facing more unrelated charges as well.

The law will often build a case over a long time period and stack multiple charges against offenders so when they do attempt conviction and possibly win the offenders face serious time and don't just keep getting slaps on the wrist.

Kudos to Gloria Allred who is championing the family of the the biker who was deliberately run over by the SUV driver.

Why that guy was not charged with assault is beyond me. He tried to KILL that guy. This is a no-brainer assault case.

Gloria Allred is a bottom feeding, scumbag lawyer of the worst variety - if you're siding with her, you're most definitely on the wrong side of things...

I also agree that Allred is an ambulance chaser. She'll willingly jump into the limelight any chance she gets and that's why she got the case. I agree what the driver did was wrong under most other circumstances, but in this case I think he was acting in self defense. The video clearly shows the bike slowing down in front of him and inviting the driver to hit him. I see no dispute there, the video doesn't lie, but that's up to a court to decide.

... I see no dispute there, the video doesn't lie, but that's up to a court to decide.

The video DOESN'T lie. I agree with that. Then please explain why the SUV driver hasn't been charged with attempted vehicular homicide.

Clearly, he was attempting to kill the biker caught under his wheels.

If I were driving a 5000-pound vehicle and purposely ran over a motorcyclist, I would presume he would be dead. Anyone care to dispute that?

edit: and i think the biker that was run-over was not the same individual who did the "brake-check".

It could be ruled a justifiable homicide.

"A person is authorized to kill another person in self-defense or in the defense of others, but only if the person reasonably believes that the killing is absolutely necessary in order to prevent serious harm or death to himself or herself or to others"

And that determination will likely be the crux of any court case.
