no fix'n' dat. strip it and duratex. my advice. you *might* be able to use a razor and cut a square around the damaged area, replacing that section, but it'll just happen again (probably in a different area, just to spite you). strip and duratex will solve it for good.
If the damage isn't too bad, give it a trim and find some way of covering it soon. The cat's attention could be diverted to a nearby scratching post. For amp covers, I use a dust cover from StudioSlips that was reasonably priced and a perfect custom fit. If purchasing a cover is not an option, find an old cotton sheet or blanket.
The thought crossed my mind. BTW my kids (5&10) the wife and I have been watching old Hogan's Heroes episodes. The kids get a kick out of your avatar. I think the 5 year old thinks you're really Schultz.
Nice! I had a friend back in college who claims to have actually done that. Knowing him, it seems plausible.
has the cat done the same to anything else? is the cab a new addition and/or second hand? the rat fur MAY be the problem, unfortunately.
She only did it once, in the back. The cab has been in storage for a while now. I'm trying to thin the herd (equipment wise) and want to sell it. It's an old 15" and not worth much. I may just end up giving it away.
I'll put that in my wife's shopping cart and wait for the reaction. I may be sleeping on the couch, but it'll be worth it.
There are cat-repellent sprays available, designed to keep them from tearing up the furniture...that may be a way to go. If nothing else, a squirt-bottle of water is an effective deterrent (mine run when they even see the bottle now).
