Rattle Can Refinish Club

This is a Shoreline Gold of sorts, using ReRanch nitro. I went off reservation in the application. I layered mists of the Shoreline gold between coats of the tinted clear coat. The bass has a bit of a greenish tint to it, but the highlights are very gold. In shadow, it goes to almost avocado. I call it Candy Norge.

This one might not qualify as a rattle can. I did use an airbrush for the dark tobacco brown, but the rest is ReRanch rattle cans.

The neck was pre-finished in nitro. I did apply a little more tinted clear from ReRanch. I forgot to mention I only painted the bodies. The Shoreline gold really does not like the camera in my phone. The parts of the pickguard that look white are really a gold/amber. The parts that look dark green are more of a rust color.

May I ask what brand of plastic-coat paint you used? I would like to get a new pearl-white pickguard for my (soon to be) rattle-can jaguar but they're $56, so I think I will just paint over the hideous tort guard it came with. Any hints, tips, and cheat codes you may have would be appreciated.

No secret Habilis. I lightly sanded the grey finish that was on it, then sprayed Valspar paint for plastic over it. The black looked too bland against the gold sparkle, so I sprayed a coat of lacquer over the pickguard, lightly dusted it with silver sparkle and applied several more coats of the clear lacquer to seal the sparkle in. Pickguards are thin material, so apply light coats of whatever finish you decide on. WW
