This price is pretty good. So good I question the authenticity of the bass. What do you all think?

Late '73 had Hi-Gains, and any stock bass would not have mixed pups. Maybe someone replaced the neck pup. Seeing the jack plate numbers would tell a lot.

'73 was a transitional period where you can see various mixed parts showing up depending on the month.

Looks real to me. Most fakes I've seen get the body shape at least slightly wrong.

Looks real to me too, but the quality of the pictures are pretty dismal, and there are parts of the bass, like the jack plate, that are critical in identification that are missing. So I'd nee a closer look to be sure.

Are you messaging someone who works at Southside Guitars in Brooklyn? That appears to be the backdrop they use in all their postings. If so, they’re legit. I’d call them.

*edit Just looked on the Southside site and saw the bass. They’re a legit shop. I’d call and speak to someone in person about the bass.

Seems like if someone at Southside is actually selling the $6000 Ric and not willing to take a pic you need and call you bro, they are not great to deal with, but are at least real.

To pile on: Seller has an odd name(Poal Gilbert), profile recently created, and only profile pics updated a couple of times. Seller struggles with english. Moved to Houston yesterday lol. Can't provide any more pics. You can expect them to request banking info, maybe paypal credentials, maybe some kind of venmo runaround.

I get at least one scam attempt every time I sell anything significant on FB. Sometimes I chat these folks up. The ones that will talk have all been in Africa so far, and these scams are an industry. You're probably chatting with someone in Nigeria or the Ivory Coast.
