And the frosting on the cake: that S732327 serial number is used on a LOT of fakes. Enough so that if you google that serial number, you’ll see other guitars with the exact same sticker. Probably a roll of them in some knockoff factory, and they paste them on any instrument that vaguely resembles a Fender.
I feel bad reading this thread: I don’t know the OP’s backstory, but I know we all start from zero and it takes years of handling quality instruments before we can easily tell the difference between a real and a fake. It reminded me of myself when I bought a “Les Paul” as a 15 year old kid for $60… At that time, that was a lot of money to me, so it was a red-faced moment when a friend told me “no way that’s a Paul, dude,” and proceeded to tell me all the things wrong with it.

I'm intrigued by that narrow rectangular truss rod access. How does that even work?
Not a Fender at all, but with regard to what it actually is... it looks a lot like a 32" scale Samick I had in the early 80s. The very thin neck plate, grooved bridge with rounded sides, flush cut b/w/b pickguard and binding on a painted fretboard.
Measure from the fretboard side of the nut to the centre of the 12th fret (the actual metal fret itself). Double that measurement and you have the scale length. I'm curious if it's 16" (32" scale).

I'm curious about the control knobs. I have the same kind on a no name p bass body I picked up. Anybody seen those before?

Welcome to TB. I'm glad some folks gave you good information. I wish everyone was reasonably respectful.
I got the feeling the op was not coming back and was not happy with the responses. To be honest, it doesn't take much to type "Fender precision bass" into Google to get alot of photos to compare to. I do it alot with other types of items with fairly good success.
No pic, joined to ask this question but knew well enough to take the pics that they did??? My gut tells me it's the perpetrator trying to figure out if they did a good enough job with their decal to pass it off as real. Maybe I'm just a cynic.
Sometimes (most times) that can be a good thing.
