I'll second USA Custom Guitars. Simply the greatest people to deal with, and they're a bit more crafted than Warmoth, which has a more 'factory' mentality. I don't say that to dis on Warmoth, as they produce a fine product. I just think Tommy's crew is a notch above them.
My body from warmoth was perfect! Really nice painting job and much much cooler than the pictures shows
I might give Warmoth the edge for a pre-painted body, as they're better setup for that. I like painting my own though. I love the smell of laquer in the morning!
Tough to go wrong with either Warmoth OR USA Custom Guitar bodies and necks. They're a cut above, and therefore a few dollars more - BUT, worth every penny. First rate in all regards on builds, and outstanding customer service. When one considers they can buy necks and bodies finished or unfinished, plus varying levels of wood choices...it leaves options open to the pocketbook and/or needs of the buyer. Everyone has a budget, and they both are appreciative of your business. Consequently...they endeavor to earn your return business. I've yet to hear or read a truly disparaging word said of either

Make sure they give you the weight. I have purchased several necks and body's from warmoth (good stuff). If you buy a neck and body from warmoth I can tell you that you will get a really tight neck pocket. I have no experience with carvin but they get rave reviews and will build to order an their price is hard to beat.
Excellent woodworking, nice wood. Look at their specials and be patient. I just bought a nice quilt maple strat body to build a bari guiltar - it will look great when I'm done!

It totally depends on what you want. If you want something made of figured wood with a clear finish, then Warmoth or USAGC are the answers. If you want a solid color Fender shaped body, save the extra money that a Warmoth would cost and get a MightyMite body.
