Recommend a Sweetwater Sales Engineer?

Sales Engineer? Good Grief. Do you have to study Calculus these days to sell music gear?

I worked for 30+ years as a computer engineer. I have a part-time retirement job parking cars at a hospital. I guess now I'm a Vehicle Relocation Engineer.

Rick B.
This ^^^^ This right here!
I'm so sick of every stupid job using descriptors that are false. Sales is not an engineer. Webster defines "Engineer" as someone devoted to engineering work. There's nothing in the engineering world that has to do with sales.
This also goes for the title "Architect". I'm so sick of seeing "Insurance Architect" or some stupid crap like that. You're not an architect of insurance, stop it, there's no such thing! :rage:  :rage:

I agree with this 100%! The title 'engineer' is tacked onto so many unrelated job titles to give the impression of a higher level of expertise, etc. I work with real engineers all the time at work and they are REALLY smart people. They don't sell bass guitars at Sweetwater.

Dudes. Mine is Greg. Hasn’t ever flipped over backwards for me, but respects that I asked him to stop calling. Quick to return emails but very short & basic with answers to questions. Sometimes has been unhelpful in that regard as I feel I have to pester him with just the right detailed question if I want to get any sort of detailed reply.

Seems like a nice guy, though. Recommend? Meh. Does he do his job? Yeah.

Does Sweetwater list their weights anywhere? I'm getting some shoulder issues...

if the bass in stock you can view the actual instrument, including the weight. It will say something like “you are viewing SN” and then list the serial number with the weight under it. If there are multiples of the same bass, you can compare all of them and the weight is right there. Here are the current 4 fender player P basses in white with PF as an example.
Fender Player Precision Bass - Polar White with Pau Ferro Fingerboard

edit - I thought this would get you to the comparison page but apparently not. You need to click “compare all 4” at the top of the page to see the stock.

All, Sweetwater is “ Your Guy”, the brain that controls the fingers that reach out and grab you with the purpose of attaching like a leech to extract your coin.

Sometimes that leech whispers sweet advice to your ears. Hence the name, SweetWater.

I always recommend Nick Tamez. He lived out here in NC for a decade or so. He’s primarily a drummer but he also plays bass. Have known him for years. Super nice guy and he loves playing music. The type that will have gigs 5 nights a week playing in multiple bands and sometimes on different instruments. Have played dozens of shows with his bands opening for mine or mine opening for his. And he even filled in on drums with my main band Nephilym for a little while.
