recommend a tablet for live shows

I used this for the first time at our gig on Friday night and it worked perfectly.

I needed it for a little bit of help with lyrics on just six out of the 50 songs we played. It was easier to see, a lot more convenient, and also much more professional looking than a stack of papers on a music stand.

Even without a remote page switching device, it only takes about five seconds to close one page and open another. Since I'm only using this sparingly during shows, I'm not too concerned about spending extra money on unneeded accessories.

Our drummer sings lead on more than half of our songs and he currently keeps a stack of cheat sheets on a music stand attached to his drum kit. Seeing how useful my tablet was, he's decided to get one for himself.

After 5 months of using this tablet on rehearsals and gigs, I have to say I'm completely satisfied with its performance.

I don't ask much of it, but it's great at what I need it for.

I haven't had to install any apps or add on software to make things work, other than VLC media player, just because I'm used to it and I like what it can do.

I was pleasantly surprised that I could see the screen so well on the day we used it for an afternoon gig in bright, direct sunlight. The battery life is impressive, as well.
