Recommend me a VERY good gig bag please..

It fit my Aria Pro TSB 650 (medium scale) just fine
And +1 for Mono, I use the M-80 for my basses and the pedal board club, both are wonderful.

I'll recommend the GigBlade as well. It may not have the perfect features, but it's utility is unbelievable. The side carry allows me to have my backpack on and still carry something in each hand. Very handy. (no pun intended)

So after reading the thread on "missing hardshell cases" and all the often wise comments from our long time professional members it occurred to me that maybe I too need a "gig bag".. As someone who's not a working musician and not having been in a regular practice schedule/band for close to a decade now I've never do too much travelling with my bass(es)... once or so a month to a Jam is the extent of it, but even then, I get get sick of hauling around the huge cases just to drive 20 min down the road and unload them out of my own car. Plus the Fender G&G's don't even fit in my sedan safely, so I have to get creative and I don't like that incase of an accident.

At the same time, I want to take maximum precautions to protect my instruments from simple cosmetic wear and digs..

I'm absolutely not familiar with gig bags, so maybe you all can give me a schooling.. what's the Rolls Royce of gig bags? Or are they all more or less the same? Is it usually 1-size fits all? or shall I get different ones? My basses are in my sig.

Others have already mentioned it, but Mono is the best. Bar none.

They don't come cheap, but occasionally do come up second hand, and they are head and shoulders better than the next best bag.

My basses don't travel in anything else these days

seems you cannot get the Vertigo added features and protection with the dual bag... so it's going to be hard to chose.

They are spendy, I assume maybe US/EU/Japan made at least?

I don't know about the most super-deluxe gig bag - I've never owned a Mono - but I will say that IMO the best value I've ever seen with a gig bag is the Spector one (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/spector-bass-gig-bag). It's super-solid all around, with just enough padding, great sturdy materials, excellent/confidence-inspiring zipper, great pockets, while still being a nice modest weight and not feeling too bulky. I love mine. Not just for Spectors, either - should work with any average bass. (I have an old Yamaha BB bass in mine.)

Here is another vote for IGiG. I've had mine for 3 years or so and it still looks and performs great. Spendy but nice!

+1 to the Mono comments. I really dig mine. I also have a Protec Contego. It's not as spendy as the Mono, but for the price it's a fantastic bag with only slightly less features.

I have two Contegos which are outstanding cases at a decent price. They are a little bulky, but they are a great hybrid bag. I would love to upgrade to a mono double case, but the proce is a little higher than my desire to own one.

The Mono cases are very nice, but my bass won't fit in them. That's why I had to buy the Gator Pro Go...$150 or so.
Great neck support, extra padded protection at the bottom, plenty of storage space, and a raincoat in one of the zipped compartments.

Think the Reunion Blues is the best protection out there but the Mono is great for two basses and much lighter w more storage

I vote Mono M80. The Protec Contego is a good bag also; can be had for around $100 or so.

I have a Mono Vertigo and Reunion Blues Continental. The Reunion Blues is first class and sexy, but I have to give the edge to the Vertigo. The vertical access is a big asset and the Guitar Tick just rocks. I initially thought it a silly accessory, but now I wish the Continental had the d-rings for the Tick as I find it to be indispensable.

I have an Igig single bass. Pockets are huge HUGE. I can fit either my TH500 or RH450 in the front pocket. Handles all over the damn thing. Love it.
