k what the hell do I know....Acts like a mid eq set just about right. Roll it off and get thumpy roll it up and get clarity. I keep it flatish
Since you already have a DI on the Platinum, why not get the Bright-Eye and save a little money?Hey everyone, thanks for the great info in this thread. Has anyone put a Red-Eye in front of a Fishman platinum? I’m leaning towards a Red-Eye and feel like it would make my platinum redundant except for the tuner and possibly the low cut (I almost always set it flat and just use it for tuning, hpf & notch).
Good point, I honestly hadn’t considered it. I like to have a 9V battery option, but not at the expense of $70Since you already have a DI on the Platinum, why not get the Bright-Eye and save a little money?
I have a quick question: I've heard it said on this thread that all of the Fire Eye boxes have the impedance matching effect, but their website says otherwise in the product specs.
For the Red Eye and Twin, they say "Input: Impedance-matching, accepts up to 2 volt peak-to-peak level without distortion. "
For the Bright Eye and Dee Eye, they say "Input: high-impedance, 1 million ohms, maximum 12 volt peak-peak level."
What's the deal with that?

I think they even make USB to 9v converters now, so you could potentially use a power brick, but I've not tried that.
I’ve been really happy with this tube buffer post eq (in the effects loop.) Way more pronounced than the Sarno BB in my opinion. I tried it as my first input but it’s so much more “tubey” after. It has two tubes btw…
