Double Bass Red Eye Preamp

So Daren has agreed to send a Redeye twin so that all you cats who want to try before you buy can get a chance to see if it is right for your setup. If you are interested in getting on the list, here is the protocol: I'll send it to the first person and then that person sends it to the next person. Leave a note here that you want it and then who ever has it can PM the next person for an address. When it goes around where it is going I'll or someone will send it back to Daren.
I think we better keep it in the USA too. So if you are interested in receiving the Redeye for trial leave a note below...Don't leave your address until the person before you asks for it in a PM (if there is a better way to do this let me know)

I think the Redeye>Noble is going to be excellent

Looking forward to the full report on the Redeye>Noble. I've got this Two Notes Le Bass pre on my rig to get the tube harmonics/color and, try as I might, this Red-Eye DOES NOT get along with it, imho. Something weird happens and it gets almost unusable in crunchiness (with my amp, my bass, etc -- YMMV). I am having great tonal success running the Krivo into the tube and the piezo through the red-eye into separate channels, though. What a rabbit hole!

I am not having a problem with the Redeye into the Sarno V8. The Redeye has no gain adjustment so that has to be done on the Sarno. The Yamahiko is hot too. But just managing the gainstaging ( the MAS18 has a gain stage too) isn’t too complicated. If it is distorting, you don’t have it set right.

I ended up putting some stuff between the Redeye and the Le Bass (tuner, HPF pre, volume pedal) and am running directly into the powered PJB 6/5" speaker cab (skipping the preamp on the suitcase amp) and there is now no more unpleasant crunch. The tube color now compliments the Redeye clean tone quite nicely. I'll never understand this stuff...

This is really nice. Turns out the HPF is way good coupled with the Redeye. The ditto (I think ) is essential ( and sounds great) and that is one baddass tuner.
