Monique is a pretty looking piece of gear.
I did a session last Tuesday in Austin. The asst Engineer had a Monique.. We did the usual A/B and they wanted me to use the REDDI... He called me to tell me they went out and bought a new Reddi last week.
That scenario happens alot.

I suppose you could if your amp has a line out. Won't do speaker level DI, but doesn't need to. Would it make enough of a difference? It did for me but I haven't tried it with an amp's line out yet to see how much it steps on the sound of the REDDI.

Indeed a tough choice. The Monique is quite cool if you need tone shaping capability in the PA. Neither of them put the affected tone into your rig, though. The REDDI does a simple line through while the Monique has a tube-powered preamp with no output transformer for your rig and saves the OT for the PA. Not sure if you were wanting the OT powered signal in your rig, but while the line out to the rig in the Monique would be a little more deluxe than the REDDI's, it's not what the PA gets.

But both Peter Montessi and Jule Potter are very cool folks who care a great deal about their clients, so either way you go, you'd be good. I just preferred the REDDI for my application.

A key consideration when choosing between the two products is how they sound. You are talking about two very different designs. Unfortunately, the only way to truly determine which will best meet your needs is to try them both.

Otherwise you have to make a decision based on faith. And how vocal each community is. :p For what is't worth, I can tell you that when it comes to low frequencies, a bigger iron output transformer is going to handle the low end better offering a rich harmonic content while minimizing attenuation of the low frequencies.

This is very interesting... I was assuming the Monique would deliver the same tone to my power amp/on stage rig as it did to the front of the house/mixing console. This could be the deciding factor.

BTW, that wasn't a slam on the Monique by any means. It is extremely hard to get the output transformer signal to FOH AND to your rig without degrading it. If it wasn't, I'm sure both Peter and Jule would be doing it.

Pretty cool, Peter! Started to ask you what was plugged into the second REDDI, but that turned out to be a woodblock next to Oskar's pedals ;) Looks like a great time, though.
