I would like to say yes. but to be honest I really don't know. It would depend on the input sensitivity of AI amp.
The REDDI has about 16dB of gain available. Which is not really LINE level which would be needed to run most power amps to their potential. I have experimented with my REDDI in a carvin DCM1500 and Crown MA1200. It was able to get the amp to hit CLIP on its hardest thumps..
It really depends on the Input of the AI amp . .So i guess i need to say " I dont know the answer. But i will try to get it for you.

A Design has a newer Solid State DI with large Cinemag OP transformers.. its called the KGB.. ( keyboard, Bass, Guitar) I posted a photo of the prototype that i have been messing with up above a few posts..
Its Solid State but with the same high end components used in other A Design preamps/ DIs. And it is transformer out put. So you can drive it hard if you wanted to and get saturation of the XFMR coil for a unique sound.
It is a Dual Mono. .One side could be DI the other could be phat big pro audio( not generic consumer grade) DI.. I hope i used the proper terminology there.. Anyway people that are used to NEVE and API type sounds know are familiar with that type of delivery... The KGB can also be used cascading one channel into the other for a different affect if wanted....

There is also a single channel KHB as shown above in black. It is the same preamp as the dual mono but with Bass, Mid , Treb controls with transformer output and enough GAIN to drive any line level poweramp to its max..

Can you patch the through from channel 1 to the input of channel 2, take the DI from channel one and run the out from channel two to an XLR input equipped bass head like an Acoustic Image? Just curious. I've hesitated in buying one of these as I'd be sending all the good stuff to the FOH and am stuck with the boring stuff into my bass amp.

They make one specifically for the REDDI. It's what I use as well.

I also have the Tuki bag for my REDDI. I had them attach a pocket with a zipper on the bag for a small upcharge. It's perfect for holding the power cable and the XLR ground-lift that I use.

Anyone know what will the sonic differences are between the v1 REDDI and the sideways REDDI?

The v2 is just a rack mountable 2 channel REDDI.

I'm trying to decide if I want to keep my reddi. Due to a lack of reading comprehension on my part I ordered one thinking it was more of a preamp.

I did eventually have a friend make a cable that lets me plug it into my amp from the DI out (not the through), but the results have been underwhelming. I do realize this is not the intended use for this unit.

I'm not gigging or recording atm, so its kind of an expensive paperweight. If I do sell it, I have a feeling I will kick myself in the ass later. I feel like I could get other gear to use now.

I now have a REDDI and a Jule Amps Monique. I haven't gotten to A/B the two, and don't know when I'd be able to do so. Does anyone know how the REDDI and the direct out on the Monique compare to each other?

Literally NONE.. same thing side by side .. Two in a rack.. Great for Keys. Touring Bass, DJ, pro studio situations, where you want more than one DI on a source.

Its really comparing apples to oranges. One is a DI the other is a preamp with EQ etc etc...
Everyone loves different things.. Many people love the Monique.. I found it to be mushy on recording thing that i did for a GM truck commercial. We recut using the REDDI.. So far the REDDI always wins for me

The soon to be released BLACK REDDI Limited EDITION is A HIGH gain REDDI.. Much more output, It will drive a power amp with ease.. My regular REDDI will drive my old Carvin DCM1500 and old Crown MA1200 when set to .75 input sensitivity...
But for that i usually would use the A-Design EM500 Gold PRE into the BAC500 Compressor. It has about 72dB of gain. .More than enough to drive any poweramp or Line level or tape machine input.. Like a NEVE or API preamp...
I noticed that they have a TRIO rack unit that can be used with any ALA CARTE Preamp, Comp or Eq unit that you wish.. You can make your own channel strip.. Or the A-Design VENTURA... One of the best channel trips that you can get.. I like it more than my old Neve clone Vintech 1073 that i sold off... I only demoed it . but it is piece of gear that i would like to have in my home studio and or road gig..
