REDDI Tube DI Mega-thread-III

A friend has lent me his REDDI to try.

Managed to use it at an open mic night with my Electric Upright and it was a pretty stellar tone, I've got 2 gigs this weekend so I can give it a good going over and hopefully do a bit of recording tonight.

I've never been inspired by my Bass tone DI'd but always carry a JDI because well you should, it'll be interesting if the REDDI is added to my must have kit.

But so far so good

question for the Reddi experts. I want to know how would I hook up my bass amp rig and new Reddi once it comes in to the house system? What order would I need. I have a Ampeg SVT 3Pro and Ampeg Heritage SVT410hlf right now with a line out to the house system. What would be the nest hookup for all 3 to get the best sound?

REDDI out > to the house
REDDI thru > your amp input

Correct. Just use it as you would a regular DI.

That's the thing I've only used a DI without a amp all together. In the past I just ran it to the House and used no amp.

What "thing"?

Just use it like you did your regular DI.

With an amp, hook it up as Paparoof described.

I was just saying I've never used a DI box other than just for use without having my amp. My limited knowledge on DI boxes was that they was for directing out to the house without use of a amp.

I just use a Tuki soft cover.

They can be, and Peter Montessi sure likes the idea The earliest REDDI's didn't even have a thru jack because he thought nobody would want to use them out of the studio. Me, I've got to have an amp. I will do an IEM gig if it pays well and the IEM's are supplied, but so far nobody's asked me.

Alright Reddi owners I've been looking at the Pedal-train mini and the case for that mini board says it will fit perfectly the Reddi and my wireless system. Question i have is it possible to mount the Reddi even if its just the velcro. I'm thinking that would be a cool little setup and solve the case problem all together. Anyone with knowledge of these and know if it would work?

That's the purpose of the "Thru".

It passes the input signal on to your amp or effects without being affected.

Confused. You wanna mount your REDDI *to* your pedal board? I doubt it would fit in the bag that way, and I sure as heck would not trust a cheap piece of velcro with my beloved REDDI.

I didn't think it would work that's why I asked people that have them. I haven't received mine yet and still haven't decided on a case.

Is there a way to mount it to the pedal board and it be somewhat good? That case looks like its padded pretty good and would actually have more storage than the Tuki soft case for the same money.

I dunno - like I said before, I wouldn't trust velcro, but it might work. The REDDI is obviously heavier than a typical effects pedal, but you'd also have like five times more velcro holding it down so - maybe?

You could open up the REDDI and put a screw or two through the bottom and into the metal of the pedal board, but... man, don't put holes in your REDDI. Assume you'd kiss your warranty goodbye too.

Big zip ties? It'd be ugly but it would work.

Industrial strength velcro might work. I've not tried it, but as long as you're not swinging it around, I don't see any reason it wouldn't work.
