Reiner Amplification Gasoline Bass Overdrive

I was really curious about these but I'm not willing to pay the barely perceptible price difference from used to new so I think I'll wait for the next batch. What is the process to get on the list?

Used saves ~$50-55. This last batch took care of the folks that were waiting so I’m moving on to other projects for the time being.

This one: SOLD - Reiner Gasoline Hi-Octane Bass Overdrive

#10. I should get it on Monday, in time for band practice Tuesday! Probably later next week I'll get my board all set up, and I'll record a demo to share :)
I’m glad you snagged this, because I reaallyy wanted it but I’m still paying off a new bass!! Seriously though- if you ever decide to part with your Reiner let me know!!

So, the Rich setting isn't dark enough? That probably means our tastes are different. I like my BBBOD clone, but fact is I don't often use it because I'd prefer not to have dark out of the box (bad pun intended). I should mention that most of my basses, including most of my actives, have a passive tone control... that's how I go dark.

Been experimenting with settings and getting closer to what I'm after. I find I'm using more clean blend than I would've expected. It's a pretty versatile box; if only it could address user errors ;)

At some point with any new dirt box I'm going to crank everything to eleven -- just because. With the Gasoline, that was the point where I realized that Blend was my friend! The Gasoline OD is mid-focused, which is a great thing, but Blend maintains the lows... and that remains true even at moderate Gain/Octane levels.

The eagle has landed! Loving this thing so far :-)

Dingwall NG-2 > Polytune 3 > Cali76-TX > Darkglass Alpha Omicron > Reiner Gasoline > Damnation Audio MBD-1 > Darkglass B7KU v1 > Damnation Audio Contour Pre > DSM Noisemaker OmniCabSim Deluxe > ISP Decimator II > Radial JDI

Once I'm more familiar with it I'll record a little demo.

I could literally take one look at your board and know you are a TB member. LOL.

SO, I got to spend a few minutes with the Gasoline last night and my initial reaction was a little meh. However, when I stacked it with the MBD-1 or with the Ictineo, suddenly it was SICK. I know I will spend more time with it to sus out it's potential, which I can tell it has in spades.
This was me last night too!

The Gasoline works great for me a "light touch" overdrive - a bit of sizzle - and when stacked with the MBD-1 it was a combo on another level!

I was in the same boat. It takes some hunting and familiarity to get it to perform optimally as a stand-alone, but it’s a bit easier to get it sounding good when stacked. It also adds the right stuff to make stacking a really attractive.

So some quick comments about The Gasoline... last night I had my NOLA funk style band rehearsal and ended up using The Gasoline through my Ictineo set to SVT all rehearsal. The Gasoline was set to gain 9:30 and blend set to 10:00... Octane set to 1:00. Very killer tone was the result. Adds sizzle with a little breakup and presence without being fizzy. Even some 3Dness... anyway, I've got my German space dub/doom rehearsal tonight, so I'll get to use The Gasoline in a different context.

I'm glad I took the plunge and bought the Gasoline. The Gasoline running into the Ictineo is just silly good and the Gasoline into Damnation MBD-1 has become my favorite tone generators. The Gasoline and MBD-1 are very complementary to each other and stack extremely well together.

Here is a short, rough demo of the Gasoline into the MBD-1...

The fact that this pedal is based off anything Timmy C makes me want it as he is one of the main reasons I stuck with bass and didn’t move to drums when I was younger. Currently have a MBD-1 and Prunes and Custard on the way. This and the Volt Thrower are at the top of my list for on deck. May need to get something bigger than a PT2 though.
