MarkA,

I noticed when using my iPhone to view TalkBass the photos are not visible with the embedded soundcloud -- but, if I turn my phone sideways for the landscape view, then there is room for the photos and they do appear.

I don't know if something like this would work for you, too .. depending on your phone, I suppose ..

Thanks -- I'm actually on my laptop at the moment -- I can see the small photos on the left of the embedded soundcloud and get an idea of the EQ from them. I just thought there was a way to get to individual pages/bigger photos for each. But the clips sound good, and closer than you might expect.

Friday night: another great gig with Studio 1200 and NV610. That rig sounds fantastic without pedals, but I was playing with the hard rock band so I used Ashdown Hyperdrive for light OD, and kicked in my new Idiotbox Blower Box (awesome pedal name :D) for heavier OD. I forgot my compressor (still getting the hang of pedal logistics), but no big deal, it's a nice-to-have, not a must-have.

LoMenzo himself does a great demo video for his Ashdown signature pedal; should be easy to find on YouTube. I go with the more subtle mode he demonstrates first: using the Frequency control, add shimmer right on the top edge of the note. The pedal has a wet/dry Mix control which can be rolled back to prevent the pedal from dominating the gorgeous tone of the 1200: it's a big reason why I keep using it. For heavier OD I have other pedals.

P.S. I don't know whether James LoMenzo approves of the nickname JLo, but I like what you did there. :D

P.P.S. It's really nice to be GAS-free, amp-wise. :) I'll always have fond memories of my RBI+RPM rack rig that used your brilliant parallel wiring scheme, but I prefer to leave OD to pedals which can be bypassed -- or left at home, as I do for gigs where I don't need OD. And of course your amp is much smaller and lighter than a 4U rack rig.

Yet another weekend gig, more Studio 1200 plus NV610 nirvana. You all know that by now, but this time there's a twist. This gig was with the rock band, and fortunately our great soundman was available (other bands have discovered him too). He has always mic'd my cab before, but this time he told me my rig would fill the house. He said "I know your tone is going to be great, I'll just let you know if your volume isn't right". This wasn't a huge bar, but it wasn't a small one either. So, I consider that high praise for the rig!

Just a heads- I scored a Gig Skinz small mixer bag a couple days ago from Amazon (sold by) for 69.99. I think I got the last one, then noticed the next day it was listed sold by Music 123 for 48.76. I bought another one, figuring I'll return the first one. There are currently two remaining at that price.

I'll wait a bit on returning the first in case they become scarce again and someone here is in "need".

Yes .. the medium fits like a glove, like it was made for it. I bought mine on "cyber Monday" when they were having deals, even though I didn't get my Studio 1200 until April :)

Besides my '67 B-15 and my '14 Ashdown CTM-15 I'm definitely unloading my other amps .. now including my Ampeg V4b reissue.

Nothing else I have touches the Studio 1200 in tone or power.

Still on MF's waiting list for the medium GigSkinz bag. The SKB bag I posted earlier is serving me pretty well: wish it had more padding and a larger pocket, but it's a near-perfect fit and reasonably sturdy. Even so, I want the GigSkinz.

Yup. The Studio 1200 is it: greatest amp I've ever heard. I'll always have a soft spot for the vintage SVT I used way back in the 80's, it was magic when run loud and the power tubes heated up, but I'll choose the 1200 over it every time. I now have a nice variety of pedals to use if I want overdrive at any volume level. If I want clean at any volume level, the 1200 does that all by itself.

Ya know, I do need to experiment more with using the 1200 by itself for overdrive (cranking gain). Of course pedals are easier because they switch in and out, no knob tweaking once you get the levels right.

They were in stock last night, they're out of stock today. There must have been a REALLY limited supply of these available. It says more will be in stock on 5/16. I went ahead and ordered one regardless. It'll ship out whenever they have them in stock, which will hopefully be prior to my amp being finished. I'm pretty far back in the line, so unless @JGR decides to put his entire life on hold for a while and do nothing but crank out amps :p, I think it will work out fine.
