based on members, heh? We did that. Four older guys, two of whom had kids in another band. They referred to us as The Old Man's Band. We rejected that as well as Q Ball. All of us were in need of Hair Club memberships. We finally settled on DBLPlay. Dave, Bill, Larry, and Pete.I was briefly in a garage-noise trio (on guitar) where, after some deliberation, we agreed on "Bond of Mustard" - We weren't a band, we were a bond- and whenever we had a guest player in, they were presented with a jar of mustard. We also took aliases: Tom Dijon, Farson Wasabi and Budd Spicy Brown.
Since new band names are often hard to find and already taken (like my fav the typo inspired "The Beatless" - I've turned to anagrams. Bond of Mustard was a result of members first names - Other ones - rejected - were : Bad Dorm Futons, Numb Dodo Farts, Daft Bum Donors... the list went on... lol
p.s. I gotta agree Slagwagon would be great for a really heavy band - moving gear around in a 1970 totally rusted out Ford Ranch Wagon.
Our group of folicly challenged gentlemen just broke up. We called ourselves The Reflectors.based on members, heh? We did that. Four older guys, two of whom had kids in another band. They referred to us as The Old Man's Band. We rejected that as well as Q Ball. All of us were in need of Hair Club memberships. We finally settled on DBLPlay. Dave, Bill, Larry, and Pete.
This actually pretty funny that you mention this. I've worked the door at Gabriel's café for a number of years and there used to be a band called "loose stone" that used to play there a good bit. I always had pet names for the bands that played there...like Handshake Promise...Handjob Promise. You get it. They were playing there one night and we were discussing the band "loose stool" when the bass player walked up with his girlfriend. I wasn't aware it was him. I felt kinda bad about it and went inside to tell him I didn't mean to offend him or cut on his band and explained "pet names" as I had them for my band Tricky Sixx (Tricky Suxx), BellyGods (BlowGods). He looked confused at me and said..."oh I didn't hear you say anything. We call our band "loose stool". I liked to hit the floor! There were many--but the ones that I remember:
The Loose Stools
The Cat's Nuts
