Rejected Band Names

I played in a band in a town called Cherry Valley with a bunch of old punk guys from the 70's and they wanted to call the band "The Cherryatrics." Then we changed the name to "Jefferson Wheelchair" We added a young chick singer, and changed it to "Avant Garbage" And then finally everyone just started calling us the guys from "The Valley" and that's what we stuck with.

Jack Mehoff, and the Wankers. The Laxatives. Technicolor Yawn. Explosive Diarrhea. Tracy Lords' ex-lovers. Erectile Dystopia. The DUI's. All were loved for a few moments, alas never saw the light of day.

Hi,

At the risk of sounding racist...

When I was in the Air Force Band, stationed at March AFB (a loooong time ago) I played in the "rock" ensemble led by a black Master Sargent named Charles who played trombone. The rest of us were a bunch of young crackers wishing we had long hair. (This was the late 70s.) MSgt. Charles had us playing all kinds of R&B and disco. It was a fun band and Charlie was a cool CO. Of course we had an official name but the band's nickname became "Charlie's Anglos".

(Note: If you watched TV in the late 70s you'll get the reference. Think Farrah Faucet, Kate Jackson, etc.) :D

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
