Renaissance/Turner Basses Club

I'm not 100% convinced this is all mahogany. The sides definitely, top and back I still believe are koa: I have basses with both woods, the resemblance is striking.
Change of strings made a HUGE difference!!!
No wonder the previous owner wanted it gone: his choice of string strangled the sound…

I don't think it's black acacia, I have one with that wood and it looks much different. The vertical stripes in Schedua's bass looks like mahogany, but the horizontal flames look like koa…maybe it's blue gum like mine…beautiful none the less! :)

Yessir... a small loop of 600-grit sandpaper will smooth out the roundwound wraps of the AcoustiCores, making them feel/play more like a flatwound. Think; half-round or eliptical. RT suggested it somewhere along the way. I especially like this on my fretless.

Great, thanks! Do you sand the strings while on the bass or before putting the on? Or does it not matter? Thanks

Here we go with a beautiful and professional fretless bass built for Bunny Burnell. I recieved this from him a few years back. He was hosting the NAMM radio show on Saturday of that years scheduale .it was a great time. He had been working with Rick on some projects together. This one he told me was from Rick's Topanga canyon location at the time . It's an amazing sounding piece. The pickups at this time were built by Rick as I am told from my friend Bunny.
