Easier to do with the strings on, just slack them (one at a time) so it's a bit more manageable. Go easy, a little does a lot. The bronze roundwounds are soft metal and sand easy. Follow with some Fastfret.

More speculation/conjecture on my part... but the above timeline supports it... about the time Rick departs Gibson, they turned lonely eyes to Mike Tobias, perhaps to fill that boutique build void?

I know I wish I'd never sold that Tobias Growler 5-string. Stupid-stupid-stupid. :banghead::banghead::banghead: (used to be my backup for the Turners)

Was thinking about bumping the thread anyway... Electroline 5 is in the on-deck stand this week. With a Guild Starfire II.

I might try to make a bass this summer. I picked up this Turner neck and have a nice mahogany board along with zebrawood laminates for the body. I’ll work on the electronics.

Hi gang.
I'm in Paris, France and have this one Renaissance 5 for sale as I'm definitely a 34" and bridge pickup kind of guy. I was impressed by the preamp though, very versatile for a single piezzo bridge.
Anybody would be interested? Also I see prices have gone mad about these recently so what would u advise pricewise?

Nice bass, but if it's not working for you, time to move it along. Over here in the U.S., we're seeing people's wild imaginations testing the outer limits of disposable cash reflected in asking prices, more than actual real-world cash sales. I know about one RB-5 Standard in East Tennessee (within driving distance) where they couldn't get $1800 for it. I started to buy it myself, then I remembered that I have two, and I didn't pay that for the last one. I could have lowballed it, and probably got it, but I don't need it. I would rather another player had a nice instrument.

Good Luck, however you choose, send the new owner back to visit with us! :thumbsup:
