I've been hoping digitech updates the bass synth wah like they have the bass whammy, meatbox and others. I think it's become one of Digitechs more desired pedals. Not something I would use a lot but it would be cool to have one to combine with fuzz for a few parts.

What would you change (out of interest)? Of the 7 type settings on it I have only found about 3 that were really usable for me.

Better bypass, clean blend, an octave up synth I could blend so it's like a synth doubling the bass but an octave up. Because like you said most people only use 2 or 3 of the settings I'd like to see some other types of synthy sounds. For example I'd love to be able to get the space station sound from the ex-7. I also really like synth pads in music. On bass one of the ways I've done that is with shimmer reverbs blended but the reverbs are too slow, theh always drag. I don't know, I guess if I did know I'd be making pedals for a living.

FYI: The Behringer BSY600 is basically the Boss SYB-5 bass synth in a different (plastic) box, without stacked knobs.

Anyway, after listening to clips of several different pedals, I recently picked up a Boss AW-3 Auto Wah. You might want to give it a listen.

That's what I heard about the berhringer as well that its a BOSS clone, and as someone that owned the BOSS and Digitech I found much more use out of the BOSS, plus their built like tanks and not much more $$$, you get that with an OC2 and your in business!

I do actually like boss pedals and trust them a lot more than behringer. There is an AW-3 on ebay second hand at the moment.... I'm not convinced it would do what I want though even with an additional pedal.

BSW should be reissue for sure!!!

I already owned the Behringer BSY-600(Boss copy). Got some great tones, but the bypass sucks! I always used with expression pedal(One thing that I miss in BSW), and BSY-600 its more a "sample-thing": Sound effect become annoying if you are not using a expression pedal to do the filter sweep as you liked.
With BSY you can really hear the ring and bit modulator in the background and the sub harmonic its much more ground shaker than BSY-600.

I own a Zoom B3 too, this unit its great and cheap! The StdSynth its the best "analog" synth sound! Its basically a Fuzz+Filter thing. MonoSynth its a sampler, like BSY-600, but using other effects with it, you can make some great new patches, overall.

For sure the BSW its the only real good thing for us in Digitech X-Series. I hope to see a second generation coming soon =D
Bad Monkey its great, but you can get some better things for that price. Anyway, lets focus on the thread!! :D

Try Zoom B3 or MS-60B

I have said it before and I will say it again, I am an idiot.

Plugged my bass into my little practice amp for the first time in months to learn a few new songs. Very low signal. This is a pbass with the tone and volume bypassed but something must still be connected and draining signal to earth. Bumping the volume pot brought me back to full volume. I'll open it up and properly bypass it soon.

Anyway, what it means is that the bass synth wah is fine. My pedal search is null and void and I am outright shocked at how good my noise floor and what the gain of my other pedals is to drive a power amp so well on such a low signal.
