How do I do this now? I only see a note saying that I do not have sufficient privileges to reply. How do I reply to someone else's ad?

Classified ads are single-post threads only now. All communication can be done by private conversation, and the OP can edit their post indefinitely to include new info, questions, answers, etc. See the FAQ here: http://www.talkbass.com/library-articles/new-classifieds-features.3/
No one can reply to ads anymore. You have to contact the poster via PM (or conversation, now)

Hi, this has nothing to do with bandwidth. The abuse of the 'only one bump per 24 hours' rule was making moderation of the classifieds unmanageable. Our moderators are volunteers, and when they get abuse for trying to enforce the rules it doesn't help. So now we are enforcing the rules via software.
I understand and I do sympathize but I think the baby just went out with the bathwater. I find replies to ads an invaluable resource and I strongly feel that without them the classifieds are greatly devalued.

I guess one could also do as I do, delete any past bump post when posting the new bump. But if the loss of a valuabe feature of the site is due to it not being manageable for volunteers, then you might consider de-criminalizing the bump frequency policy.
I remember the feeling I got when i heard my favorite FM station was no longer going to play entire album sides. Progress , yes indeed.
Maybe it means in the future I will spend less time on TB and maybe thats a good thing.

I for one am pleased with the new format. I was getting tired of searching the classifieds and seeing the same "For Sale" thread being bumped literally 4-5 times a day. Nice work, TalkBass.
I think allowing others to reply in classifieds is a very valuable feature. At times, there has been good information posted by others about a specific instrument or model in a classified thread. Please bring it back.
It appears that the "no replies" limitation is also in effect in the "Classified Usage Discussion and Help Desk" subforum. I'm guessing that is an unintended consequence of the new system? It's not going to be much of a "discussion" forum if no-one can reply. 
I understand the viewpoint that replies in a classified ad can provide valuable info. Can we call on our ad posters, to simply edit their ads and add useful information? Quotes from private conversations, extra pics, etc can be added to the OP indefinitely (no time limit on editing). Just a thought.

Hmm I think what you're seeing is a result of the "bump" link that sellers can use. It changes the timestamp of the last post in the thread to the present.
