Request - ease up on the Sire advocacy

Well, one thing I have noticed, is that every photo I have seen taken of the back of one of these basses, there is at least one string ferrule that was drilled slightly off line with the rest of them. That is an aesthetic QC issue you shouldn't see in a production quality instrument.

I'm trying to find a pic of this misaligned ferrule. Could you please post a link?

It doesn't bother me, except the fact that it is pervasive and only tangentially on-topic.

For example, if someone went into every single thread that was about Rickenbackers and had to point out "I can cop a great Ric tone on my EBMM and it has better fit and finish" how would that appear?

Also, most mentions of Sire are accompanied by a negative comment (usually by implication) about the price or quality of the comparable Fenders or Squiers. When you are proposing an alternative and build it up, you are necessarily taking the original subject and subtracting from it.

Advocacy and passion is great as long as it stops somewhere short of carpet-bombing.

I do agree - but Sire is not the only product. I am highly confident that there are "members" of TB who are hired to promote products - and Sire might be one of them.

I've got two V7 ordered months apart. Neither has this issue you mentioned.

The only way to be taken seriously as a musician is to be on the front-line of the current hype machine. To be a true TB fanboy you must endorse and promote said product relentlessly until a suitable replacement comes along. Don't be like me and stick with what you like. I still use BetaMax and Laserdiscs, and I'm down to my last 6-pack of New Coke....

If I'm one of your suspects, as I suspect I am, I can guarantee you I have not been hired by Sire. I did get a nice "thank you" gift, however, for my support. Not the same thing at all.

Gnl2000 is wrong again. Bholder is not the appointed advocacy person for Sire, NO ONE IS. If someone read his post a few after that, you would find out. Gnl2000 for some reason has been flaming and trooling Sire everywhere. He does not own a Sire, just bad mouthing it.
I have mentioned Sire a few times because usually the op is asking for suggestions or someone misrepresrnts Sire in a post.
Sire basses are pretty hot this past year so I would expect the enthusiasm from a new product.
I have always been a fender guy and was in a fender thread when I heard anout an unknown company called Sire. Now I love my Sire. Period.

Yep, I got booted off a boating website once for accusing people of this same thing! The truth is, that they were doing it, but for some reason they never allowed me back on the board. Oh well, there is no crime being committed other than not admitting that they are receiving some sort of remuneration...

That hasn't got a damn thing to do with it. The fact is they are imported by a high end manufacturer and likely have a more stringent QC after they are imported.

Folks, we all get the point. Sire makes a fine bass at an attractive price point. It's fine to sing their praise and say nice things about them. However, we are at the point where there appears to be a deliberate campaign to bring up Sire in every single Fender/Squier thread. Once in a while is fine. But we are far beyond once in a while. We get it. Sire is a good bass. Your work is done.

Unless there is a weird optical illusion created by the photo, the picture kinda speaks for itself.

Regardless, do you really think that the hardware, and electronics are of the same quality as a MIA Fender?
