Restoration: Roadstar (II) to hell

... re the coin: it's definitely getting inlaid into the headstock (think it's more permanent than a string tree), but I can't decide where.
... so I'll let you all decide:

(aah, PhotoShop my old friend)

A or B?

Another option: Since you're missing a straplock, keep the coin on straplock duty, perhaps with a little modification, like so -

You could space it away from the body with a washer or bushing.

Apologies for the delay in proceedings (proper job and Australian Post getting in the way of fun).

Couple of things to report:
Had terrible trouble with the bridge - first paint job didn't adhere properly, had to be sanded back and repainted.
Two of the height-adjustment screws had rusted fast and had to be drilled out - I'll re-tap the holes as soon as a 3mm tap arrives and replace all the grub screws with stainless ones (which are already here).

The base plate is pretty much done though:

The black hides most of the pitting from a distance, so it should be good to go back on.

This was after all the corrosion had been stripped out, and as you can see, not too pretty.

Like these?

Yours if you want them. Just PM me your address.
Best of luck with the great project.

Timon, you sir, are a legend!
I'll PM you shortly and send you some beer tokens.

Fretwire has also arrived.
(10 points if you can name it) ;)

It's not to everyone's taste, but I've used it on two other builds with good results (it polishes beeeautifully) and it'll match the gold highlights in the logo and the coin.

... and finally.

The colour I'll be refinishing in, is...

Dave, love the choice in colour, she's going to look awesome. Also, agree with a few others with placement of the coin position B, will suit her quite well and set off the logo nicely. Nice job with the baseplate for the bridge, almost looks like a brand newie!!
Can't wait to see her finished, she'll be a hottie for sure
