Restoration: Roadstar (II) to hell

Well, that would, in fact, be true to the original, but I was thinking just about the headstock when I posted - not because of historical accuracy, but because that coin would look simply bad*ss in contrast with that color!

Matching headstock is a must - but only the front face, rest of the neck will natural (haven't decided if I'll lacquer or wax yet though).
So what's new: mostly finished the bridge, although still waiting for proper length stainless intonation-screws to arrive.
(current ones are temporary)
You can clearly see the pitting left by the corrosion, but it's now structurally sound, and I'll never have to worry about rusting grub screws again (stainless FTW).

Been test spraying the colour with different undercoats (just for funsies):
Unfortunately, that picture really doesn't do the colours any justice.
In reality, the white gave the best chatoyancy (love that word) and the black showed off the green hues better.
Whilst the white is a little 'vibrant' for my taste at present, I reckon a couple more coats of colour will darken it down.
... so I'll risk it with a white undercoat:

You should try it with a sliver base coat, kind of like you would use on an automotive candy color. I bet it would look amazing.
Looking good Dave! Great job with the bridge. The pitting will not be noticeable from a normal distance.
You definitely should go for option A for the headstock Yen placement, without reprinting the Ibanez logo.
So this is the silver undercoat, what comes next, a tinted-clear layer or a very thin colored layer?

Mr Gecko is a very similar colour though (bit more indigo I reckon).
Are you sanding between coats? Between the last two blue pics, there's a "thing" between the two pup cavities.
