reverb for bass?

I like reverb, but only on the upper frequencies. The EHX Stereo Memory Man can pull this off with it's filter control... Does anyone know if the tone control on the Verbzilla can act as a high pass filter like that?

I dont think so. I am spending alot of time with it this weekend. If you explain a little more I can let you know. From what I think I understand of the question, your asking if the tone control can be used so only the highs have reverb? If this is correct I have not experienced it, though was not looking. Let me know if I understand you right, and I will check it out.:D

Stanley Clarke will use reverb (TC electronics reverb box) when he plays his Alembic bass. It kinda helps to put him in front. It sounds sharp. I might aswell add that he plays a tenor bass : A,D,G,C instead of E,A,D,G and needs another bass to... play the bass.

As Danny buoy said he likes reverb but only in the upper frequencies.

As Aledeville said: it's great for solos.

I'm starting to play around with it, and i really love it. I'm doing solo looping stuff and a touch of reverb can really fill the space and give it body. What kind of reverb units do you guys use? Right now i'm just playing with a borrowed old school ehx holy grail.

I like to imagine adding reverb to notes played in the upper register on recordings adds a certain depth and live-ness. Never felt the need to use it live, though, as most rooms have some natural reverb going on.

By the way, I really don't like clean guitar without a dash of reverb, it sounds horrible to me, at least when I record it.

My favourite reverb is Dr. Scientist Radical Red Reverberator. It has a switch for the amount of decay. It's essential for bass - in a band context when playing a solo I prefer the short decay setting, when playing alone (for example, ad libitum bass intro with harmonics, chords and other staff like that) you may use longer decay for more depth.
