I was going to comment on that! I would have used a black one if I wanted it to be less noticeable, but maybe this guy wanted his bass to have a cool low tech duct tape vibe. With the flat charcoal primer looking paint and the mismatched knobs he was probably going for something like that.

Probably really proud of his Epic Relic (sounds like a band name- with a British accent of course) job.
