So, I haven't read the entire thread so forgive me if this has been said before. Do both of you dig the same music? Do you discuss what you dig, in terms of rhythm, tone, feel, etc? Maybe it's about getting on the same page without your instruments? Maybe you'll never find common ground with this player.
