Just 1 bassist in the band.
This is the set up we put together for bass tracking.

Ampeg V4 into Eden XLT 4x10 (Dirty)
Ampeg SVT 3 Pro + rack of goodies into Ampeg Classic 4x10 HLF (Clean)
Both were running at the same time and I ended up tracking everything with my Lakland Skyline 5 string. We were actually able to get a really nice Geddy-ish tone.

I also ran a Mesa Stiletto through the Ampeg 4x10 HLF for one song to get some intense distortion.

Here are a couple of more shots of the 2 rigs, I didn't get a chance to snap a shot of the Mesa. Wish I had better pics than these cell phone photos...

The first gig up 19 stairs pretty much sealed its fate... couldn't even get anywhere near the rig when it was running...

OK// I love the low of those scoop cabs.. I had a custom birch one made with 2x18" many years ago.. Sick lows.... makes your beer go flat type of lows.

i will bet that is one nice full sounding rig you have.. Love to see those scoop cabs . its been years.

I got the scoops as part of a sub deal for my other life as a PA guy... they pretty much sat around until I came across a story of someone using them in the 70's as bass cabs... so I thought, why not?

The sound guy at the club we played at, is an old school dude, and was in love with the rig the entire weekend... sounded killer... sounded killer without the crappy yorkvilles xc410's as well...

The XC's got traded in, towards some Epifani cabs, and the scoops are now back in their respective homes in my garage.

I used a crown XTI1000... Not a great amp for bass... didn't sound very good driving the XC410's or the Epifani's by itself... but it was amazing with the XC410's + the scoops...

The Yorkvilles sounded ok, I don't think the Crown drove them to their full potential. Unfortunately, I was shown the Epifani's, and the Yorkvilles didn't stand a chance after that. The Crown couldn't drive the Epifani's very well either, so I got rid of that one, and went to a QSC RMX2450. A lot more weight, but it was worth it...

At my bands show tonight, assuming we can fit it all in our van, I'll be running..

Sunn Concert Bass (200w)
Sunn Concert Slave (200w)
Earth Sound Research Producer (220w)

1x18
2x15
2x15


If we have room, I'll be setting up the two 2x15's to the left on their sides, and stacked on one another, in the middle will be the 4x12 with all three amps stacked on top, and on the right will be the 1x18/4x10 stack. I've never run this setup before. Always wanted to though.

Unfortunately, due to a possible small claims court battle, I'll be losing one of the 2x15's soon, which is why I'm planning on running this larger setup tonight. Should be interesting. Like I said, we're not even sure if this will all fit in the van, if it does though, I'll try to get a picture or two of it.
