Really sad. Loved Lemmy in Hawkwind. He and Geezer were probably the reasons I first picked up a bass back in the 70s.

Man, I didn't even know. I'm so out of touch with my 'old self.' But I searched around and found this from Lemmy:

I didn't post this to create a political debate. It's just what he said. Please don't go there.
The important thing to take away is that he recognized that the 'Rock and Roll' lifestyle could be hazardous. We just lost Scott Weiland of STP Dec 3. Dammit!

I'm going to temper my sadness at this news by posting something I thought of that made me laugh:
Can you imagine the look on his face when a doctor said to Lemmy "I need to do a digital exam of you...ahem...umm...in the back there." And the subsequent silence that stretched on and on.

It was surely bound to happen and it's a wonder of science and nature and chance that it didn't happen before now, but god damnit.
Lemmy was, and always will be, the baddest-ass player to ever pick up a bass. He OWNED bass guitar playing in a way only He could. I am capitalizing "He" because that's what one does with deities... And Lemmy was God.
It was surely bound to happen and it's a wonder of science and nature and chance that it didn't happen before now, but god damnit.
