Whenever he'd have another Brit on, it often could be Pythonesque. Arthur Brown, as in "Crazy World Of…", and the Kinks' Dave Davies were like that as well. Even Derek Smalls…

I've been lamenting the fact that I never got to see Ozzy either with Black Sabbath or solo. But then I remembered one day long ago my drummer called me up and said he and another drummer friend of his were going to see a live recording of Ozzy at the Jimmy Kimmel Live show and they had an extra free ticket or pass, whatever they call it. We carpooled and I can't remember where we parked but we made our way to the El Capitan Theater and there was a stage set up in the rear parking area. We stood in line for the gates to open and everybody recognized and cheered Jack who was standing by himself inside the gated area. They finally opened the gates and the drummer friend told us how to get to the front of the stage since he's done this before. Since it was a live recording they had to pause at certain times for commercials, but everybody in the audience were told to whoop it up and then Ozzy came out. For the life of me I can't remember what songs were played, but the whole thing lasted only about 15-20 minutes. I think I was busy trying to take pictures with my clamshell phone which I don't have anymore and have lost the photos. The only other detail I can recall is an all blacked out EB Stingray bass. It was a cool event, but for whatever reason I just don't remember that much of from it.

RIP Indie 103.1. For a brief moment radio was worth listening to again.

Note: I realize this interview was later at KLOS not Indie. 103.1 ruled.
